4 quick notes on WMU winning the MAC tournament:
1. Thank you WMU! Thank you for winning and winning big over that team up north. Seeing them crash and burn is fun any day of the week in any sport.
2. We beat WMU on the road. Our team, when playing well and shooting well, was very good this year. Whoever the next coach is will inherit a largely clean slate but also some talented and hungry players. The future can be very bright in basketball at BG with the right coach.
3. We were just about the bottom of the conference but we beat the overall #1 seed and tournament champion. The MAC top to bottom is closer in basketball than it is in football.
4. How hot is WMU right now? Their football team was awful but their coach found a whole lot of talented players who like to row boats in forming the conference's top class in a long time (though I think it is somewhat a mirage) and now their basketball team is at the top and won the tournament in dominant fashion. There are good reasons for WMU fans to be excited.
