From what guest44 is saying tho, it is not uncommon for natural attrition to occur with coaching changes.

Exactly. Especially after the school year ends in 2 weeks.

I know,

I just don't see it happening with this group. Lyshe isn't going anywhere. He doesn't care about PT being a former walk-on. Gomez already transferred once and frankly I think he can give us 10-12 solid minutes a night. Mayleben probably has a chance to go but it seems like he has bought into BG and you can't teach 6-9 230. I would bet that scholarship could be better used elsewhere but I have not seen him play a minute. (Never a good sign when you are redshirted on a ridiculously thin team). Denny could leave but he is a shooter and we don't seem to have another one of those.

I get that attrition occurs and I wouldn't be against it but I don't see much of it happening with this group.

Departures aren't always voluntary....sometimes there's issues with grades, discipline...etc...etc...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Coach Voll was always quick to point out that coaching is not a democracy. You get playing time by your performance, mostly determined by practices.

I'm not sure if the "one down two to go" reference is by recruiting slots, or defections. Clearly, the roster and game starts was not based on skill and performance, but I'm not going there in this thread. I was not in practice or the locker room or Orr's head, so I have no idea of the talent, or lack thereof of the players who didn't play. I'm sure coach Jans can evaluate the talent and make the right decisions. I'm ready to start the season today :-)

I think the four in question have no issues in that area.

Is their a reason that Denny and Mayleben is not on your depth chart? Did I miss something?

Let me rephrase this; I HOPE the season starts soon. You haven't seen Denny or Mayleben play, or even the new signees, yet you are making wish lists based on what???? Denny's HS numbers are fantastic, and he was injured/underused in Orr's rotation, yet you're ready to write him off before he gets to play healthy? ](*,)

Yeah, that's the AZZ I know. Where's the reset button again? Please confine your comments to the news, not your wild azzed speculation based on fiction.

No wish lists or writing off anyone. I have seen video and can make projections but I do recognize that those are all that they are. I hope he is a stud. I don't expect much more than a decent spot up shooter.

Please relax a bit.

Denny put up solid numbers in a terrible high school league. There is nothing in any of his tapes to suggest that he has the athletic ability or quickness to guard at the MAC level. Unless most of us on this board are completely wrong he will struggle to separate to get his shot off as well.

Mayleben on the other hand .... ESPN rates recruits on a scale 0-100. Most MAC kids are in the 50s, some hit mid 60s and the top top kids will reach low 70s. When Mayleben committed he was a 37 and finished at 42. That is among the lowest rankings I've seen given to anyone. Kid does have nice size as Globe has pointed out but if he isn't able to use it it doesn't matter

Well once Joplin and the sweatsuit squad became a better option than Mayleben in Orr's final year of his contract, it spoke volumes.
