Walk on Anthony Wayne

Post by gmartin »

If this been mentioned I apologized but I heard BG will be having a walk on for next season. He is from Anthony Wayne HS. He averaged 22 ppg and was All State honorable mention. Anyone seen him play.

Yikes. This will make for a roster of 18 that includes 5 walkons. Add 2 more walk-ons, and we can have 2 5-on-5 sessions going during practices. The more the merrier. :)

Watching the hi lites, obviously done by his mom,of all the 3r's.....looks like a solid outside shooter with a fairly quick release AND pretty good range. Guess we'll need to see what happens...he obviously hasn't been recruited, at least heavily, by any D-1 schools.... Hopefully, we'll see some success, if not only due to the extra numbers of players.

Brandon Busuttil is still on the roster, so Fox Lische and him would make 3 walk ons officially for next season with a total of 16 on the roster currently online. The other one's may or may not be there next season, or just be practice players.

Fox did an interview on BCSN and said that Jans told him all players (walk-ons and scholarship recepients) will be treated the same and given equal opportunities to earn playing time. Standard coachspeak but if he can shoot there's definitely a place to be had in the rotation.

Sounds like a coach looking for the best players he can get on the floor. This is what we wanted a year ago on this board and I get the feeling Coach Jans is as serious about this as he is about winning.
