Re: BG v Cleveland State
Had you told me with all of these new faces Zach Denny would be the second best player I would have laughed at you.
Re: BG v Cleveland State
That second half was awesome. The Stroh was rocking. We are 6-2...what do we have to do to fill seats???
Denny is my favorite player. Kinda reminds me of Craft at OSU. Just has a nose for the ball, has to be our 2nd best rebounder.

Great game and a good environment. A bunch of dunks, a couple scuffles, and another example of how lucky we are to have Jans as a coach. I agree it is time for the fans to show, however Orr put this program to sleep, so I am not surprised. Keep winning and they will show up.

Keep up the good work Falcons! Jans [Bill Frack] has raised the bar and the Falcons seem to be playing with a bunch more emotion and focus.
The fans will come, but it will take a while IMO. So many choices for entertainment on a weekend/weekday - I fear people will not come unless BG is a consistent winner over time - may take many seasons to get more butts in the seats like we on AZZ want. It is very hard to build a tradition of winning. I was amazed that Dayton had 12,000 at the game v BG. Speaks to their tradition forged over years and years of winning [and lazer focus by that school on the basketball program].
Thanks again to Mr. Frack for his amazing gift and legacy of passion for BG Men's Hoops

Fun game. As bad as the 1st half seemed to go they stayed in the game and you could sense something would change. The biggest thing I noticed was the penetration allowing for better outside shooting in the 2nd half. Complete opposite of the first half when they drove very little.
The environment is improving - thanks to Frack, Stroh and other major contributors.
Please drop the minor league baseball on court timeout contests when the game is building. They come on the floor and want the crowd to get excited about a shooting contest when the band should be rocking and the fans should remain on their feet. But this is new territory for promotions so we'll be patient with them too.

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Reverse decades of mediocrity and no success, in conference or outside of it. When you're one of only a couple programs that hasn't sniffed the NCAA tournament in more than 45 years (FOUR DECADES PLUS!!!) you can hardly blame fans for being indifferent to a sport.AZZZZ wrote:That second half was awesome. Having said that, I do think Jans is the right pick for this program, and he will have BG as a place other teams fear to go in a short time. It may take a year or two -- but it will happen.
I was in school during the early 70s when BG had some good teams and came within a whisker of winning a MAC title (where have we heard that before?) Anderson Arena was always jammed during those days, and we actually had to buy separate tickets for all sports. You didn't just show an ID and get in. The fans then were loud and intimidating -- and I have no reason to believe that can't be the case again.
