14 games in we are 6-8.
PG
1. Ali just had his best game of the season. 16pts, 5assists, 5 steals 4 rebounds and attacked the basket all day long.
2. Caldwell should be a perfect fit as the starter next year. He is a great athlete, aggressively annoying on defense and can score and shoot.
If Ali can play even close to tonight and Caldwell is his typically more effective self we are solid at the point.
(3. Cummings looks to be an ideal co PG with Caldwell. Can score a bunch. Could play together.)
SG
1. Denny has been solid all around this year although his outside shooting has been down. He is still active on defense, rebounding and moving the ball.
2. Frye has a chance to be the best player on the team. He has flashed scoring potential with an ability to take it to the hoop and shoot from the outside.
3. Malik has been a complete incomplete rarely seeing the floor.
SF
1. Lillard had a solid game v Akron but has been up and down all year in minutes and shot selection. If he gets steady he can be the centerpiece of the team.
2. Turner didn't play much v Akron but he had been solid in his first 2 games. He has flashed the ability to be a solid contributor.
(3. Plowden seems like the ideal type of utility guy who can play 3 spots on this team.)
PF
1. Alcegaire has been solid playing out of position all year having to man up against guys bigger then him all year. He's leading the team in scoring and been solid rebounding and on defense all year.
2. Fox has certainly earned his scholarship backup up the Pf position and shooting great from outside. He is limited but a great addition.
3. Uju's injury has hurt the entire team drastically. Ideally he would be back this year but he might actually get redshirted. I would hate to see what happened to him happen to Denny happen to him but it's a bit different with a Juco and with the team desperately needing big men.
(4. Derek Koch is one of the most highly ranked Ohio prospects we have had in a while and I expect lots of good things.)
C,
1, Wiggins followed up back to back double doubles with a 21 point game. with his improved foul shooting and touch around the basket he is quickly becoming the most solid big we have had in awhile. I am excited to see what he can be with some more bigs around him.
2, Worrell has been disappointing. Coming in he was an incredible athlete that looked comparable to Holmes. He played just 6 minutes against Akron. His role and minutes have been shrinking. Against a team with such great size as Akron you would think that we could get Worrell some time on the floor with Wiggins
(3. Watching Johnson tonight made me realize how excited I am for Gadson. A legit C with athleticism. He tweeted a highlight of him in a recent game with 4 or 5 really powerful dunks. I think he is going to give us something we have not had in a long time.
