With essentially seven newcomers on the roster...I'm OK with leaving an open schollie. That's a lot of guys to integrate into you system.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

We still have 1 scholarship. And we are planning to play without someone in that 13th schollie spot. Cooper Neese was a guy who committed to Butler. He is from Indiana and leaving because he said it wasn't a fit for him.

He had other offers from Indiana St, Ball State and Evansville. Might have had more if he didn't commit early in his jr year. Keep in mind his coach is now with the Buckeyes. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/co ... 744029001/" target="_blank
Looks like a great shooter with some athleticism. 6-4 175. He would sit out this year and then play have 4 years of eligibility.

3 star on ESPN.
Strengths:
Neese is a scoring guard whose primary weapon is his three-point shooting. A shot-maker with deep range, he is arguably just as dangerous shooting off the dribble as he is off the catch. He has a very quick release, can stop quick in transition or come off screens and has a special ability to make tough shots. He's good with the ball, capable of making some creative moves off the bounce to free himself for his jumper, a very dependable secondary ball-handler and capable of playing some point in a pinch. He also has good size for his position and a solid frame with good shoulders that should be able to fill out nicely.
Weaknesses:
When Neese puts it on the deck he's typically looking for room to pull-up and rarely gets all the way to the rim. He's not a naturally explosive athlete and because he isn't typically looking to attack the paint he also rarely gets to the free-throw line. He has a tendency to settle for tough shots in stretches, has to be more consistent with his decision making (his turnovers exceeded his assists during the UAA season) and prove he can defend more explosive guards at the next level.
Bottom Line:
He's shooting and scoring guard who is best described as a combo-guard but much more two than one at this point in his development.
