8 players averaging 15 or more minutes a game.
Matt Fox has played 51 minutes and has 0 turnovers. For his limitations, thats still a great number. The reason why he was playing at the end of the game vs FGCU.
Turner leads the team with 19.7ppg, 5rpg, 4.3apg, 2.6spg shooting 46% from 3
Fry has 15.7ppg, 5.7rpg, shooting 47% from 3
Koch is averaging 8,7ppg and 9.7rpg. Hard to imagine he doesn't average a double double at some point in his career if not this year.
Caldwell only has 3 assists this season. He certainly isn't playing badly. Averaging 9.7ppg.
Wiggins is at 10.6ppg and 6 rpg and I don't think he is playing well. When he puts it together this team will be solid.
As a team we are shooting 40% overall and 37% from 3.

Easy there on Fox. In the South Dakota game he gave up 11 points in a 7 min stretch to the guy he guarded. In our opening game I remember the defender blowing by him 3 times for layups. Even Hammb commented on Fox's very poor defense. I haven't went back to watch the FGCU game but I remember 3 occasions for sure, twice were off screens and another were his guy went to the rim. So even though he isn't turning the ball over his +/- has to be pretty bad and him personally is a liability on defense. What is nice is the amount of points we are getting out of the freshman and sophomore class. That's why I think he will and should win the MAC next year.

Fox had trouble moving the ball against FGCU's defense. He wasn't reading the defense fast enough. Numerous passes were batted away.

Well I'm a bona fide Matt Fox hater, so take my comments with a grain of saltgmartin wrote:Globetrotter wrote:8 players averaging 15 or more minutes a game.

I don't think he is a good enough athlete to play good defense. And if he's not shooting 3s he's not bringing much value to the offense, IMO.
To me, he is only playing because Lillard effed up again. I like Matt a lot as a "gets lost a bit" type 3 point shooter that can be a great spotup outlet action for our guys who initiate the offense. But when he plays this many minutes he doesn't seem to find himself open for those attempts and he generally gets beaten up pretty badly on defense. I'm sure he's a hard worker, I'm sure he's a great kid. He can absolutely play a role on this team. But I don't think he should be playing this many minutes on any team trying to win the MAC.

He certainly shouldn't be starting in a game like this and even if you start him as a reward to your senior you have to not play him for 37 minutes.
