Justin Turner DID NOT win player of the year. He lost out by 2 votes to Miami's Nike Sidande.

I think that's absolutely ridiculous, to be quite honest.

Just looking at their numbers they were pretty similar across the board. Turner had more assists, I guess. Sibande had slightly better shooting numbers. Sibande's shooting was better in conference play by quite a bit.

Dunno...not gonna get bent out of shape about it...they were super close (based on numbers), Miami had a better season as a team. ANd the vote came down to 2 votes...seems about a wash to me.

Usual thing that happens in these votes is the advantage goes to the player whose team is more successful. At least that was the case in the years that I coached.
