Count me in with the others in this post. He's only the Preseason MAC Player of the Year in a season we're ideally positioned to break a 50 year NCAA tournament drought. Eh, nothing too important, no biggie. Nothing to see here. Nobody bothers to ask questions and nobody provides any answers.Falconwriter wrote:There is no reason BG couldn't have given out some information on this. None. Why they've taken a "radio silence" stance is both mystifying and frustrating. The only thing I can think is that Turner has said he wants no information released, in which case the university's hands would be tied. Otherwise, I would have expected some type of general statement(s) by now.AyZiggy97 wrote:BGSU33 wrote:With next to nothing coming out of the BG camp, this seems like it could be true with each passing week. They said they wouldn't try and rush him back, but is it asking too much to give a simply update on the MAC Preseason Player of the Year??? It's as if he's not even a member of team any longer.lookimrory wrote:My friend who has contact inside the team told me today Turner is out for the year. I'm hoping its not true but I trust this source
I was in Atlantic City and, from what I was able to find out, it seems like they are hoping for him to be tournament ready. The two ways I heard it would never meet journalistic standards, so it's not worth explaining it all. But count me among those who suspect he has already played for the last time this season.
Of course, a little insight from BG would be helpful. They do not need to give fans every detail, but a realistic timeframe should be expected. When Matt Johnson got hurt in the Western Kentucky game, they said he was out for the season. I have defended the department against what I believe to be petty gripes on this board. But not disclosing the length of time that Turner will be out is a regretful decision.
It's because of this total information blackout that I am pessimistic.

You know maybe it is BG policy or something. The same thing is happening on the women's side of things. Andrea Cecil has been out the whole season, yet the only comment I have seen on it was made before the very first game that she is "day to day."

Per Nick P at the Blade, Turner is going through warmups today and might play tonight. Looks like you might have been right, Benecke!

Re: Turner's Injury
What a relief!!! So glad he is apparently healthy and can guide this team for the league season. There's still hope. And if it is BGSU's policy, it's a really stupid one, and totally not necessary. I worked in this field (media relations) for 45 years, so I'm not commenting on this without some knowledge.
