Absolutely electric lob to Plowden, combined with a steal and slam from Dae, gives BG a 92-64 lead with 6 minutes to play.

Why is Justin Turner in up 30 with 3 minutes to go. Give some players some PT.

Well, he's gotta shoot his free throws.

And he hits both, and is subbed out.

We have two walk-ons playing right now, in Elsasser and Watson.

FINAL: Falcons win, 101-78!

Great to win the game. App State is up next on Monday night, then a big one with Buffalo to open MAC play.

Is it over? Football just wasted a nice effort from Claire. Still down 45-10 in 3rd.

All three freshmen look excellent! Washington looks good too.

Zeigler has the highest ceiling on the team, but he seems to be trying too hard with the ball in his hands. I disagree that his minutes should go to someone else - he needs the experience. It's too bad we can't play six or seven guys at once.

Diggs looks more like a team leader than anyone. JTurner continues to constantly miss shots and fail to finish at the rim. JTurner, despite his career numbers, is very overrated.

I'd like to see a rotation of

Metheny-Fields-Turner
Fields-Josiah
Turner-Diggs
Plowden-Mattis
Swingle-Washington-Plowden-Mattiss

So far I haven't seen enough from Young and Zeigler for me to have them playing quality minutes. Zeigler has been here 2 years and just doesn't seem to play within the system. There was a time on Defense where he was literally just standing staring at the three point line with no one near him. He has no fundamentals. I guess I agree with you that he has a huge ceiling athletically and he won't ever get polished without minutes.....but he doesn't seem to be getting polished at all.

I am very frustrated that we were up by 30 and they didn't have Chandler Turner in. Maybe there is a back story or something but eventually you will need that guy.

Plus/Minus for South Carolina State:

Plowden +34
Swingle +33
Fields +31
Turner +18
Fulcher +18
Zeigler +15
Metheny +7
Diggs +1
Young -18

That's just for anybody that played at least 10 minutes.

I think you are completely wrong about Young and Zeigler.

I haven't noticed Young on the floor yet. That's my own fault, but he hasn't done anything that registers for me. Granted, I definitely need to a larger sample size than 2 games to make a judgement on my view of him, but I definitely need to see more from him for his role to increase.

I want Zeigler to be good - I really do. I think he is a freak athlete, and I think he could be an upgrade from Turner's driving/finishing ability by the time he's a senior, while he needs to work on his shooting and consistency before I can confidently give him a bigger role. He flashes, now he needs to build on that.

Young is quick, aggressive, and has a great floor game for his size.

I feel that Ziegler pushes himself and that has caused him to be out of control at times. He and JTurner both have problems finishing. Overcoming that hurdle would make a huge difference for them.
