He had been taking a lot of heat in the press (well, as much press as there could be in Ypsilanti) specifically in regards to academics and eligibility. He's buddies with Dakich and Dan has gone on record saying that he believed Boone would get things turned around. Current BG assistant LaMonta Stone was at EMU briefly under Boone before moving on to Ohio State.

Not a shock there. Complete underachievement there. He had a solid core of seniors and one of the best freshman in the league.

If he has connections with Lamonta and Dan is there any chance he will join ourstaff after this season?

I hear Gregg Brandon is rumored to be the next coach at EMU.

Yeah, many of us could see this coming from a distance. Boone has had some great talent up there. When he arrived, the program was loaded and he drove a bunch of good players off. EMU was easily the most disappointing team in the MAC. DD would've won 20 with that roster.
