vs. Robert Morris (12/19)

Post by mbenecke »

Following a long 12-day layoff between games, our Falcons (5-4) will return home to the Stroh Center to take on the Robert Morris Colonials (1-8) on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm. This game will be available to stream on ESPN3.

I can’t imagine attendance for this game will be much at all (NFL Sunday, students are on break) but I’m looking forward to being back in the Stroh for the first time since March 6, 2020.

Go Falcons! Beat RMU!

Still re-learning faces, but it looks like we have 14 guys dressed for the game today.

Curtis and Metheny definitely back. And I think Myron Gordon is out there as well.

If Matheny could hit a shot near the rim.... he'd be so good we never would have gotten him.

Man I hope he learns how to compensate down there and get some work done.

This was fun to watch. Beat up on a bad team like we should instead of playing down to their level.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

FINAL: BGSU 100, RMU 74

Great win. Reece and Plowden each went for 19. Mills and Chandler Turner both dropped in 13. And Diggs added 11.

I would take the following from Matheney before finishing at the rim………

-winning 3pt %
-reasonable assist to turnover ratio
-ability to guard his position

Watching the game on replay. I still fully expect the team to fall apart for a month around February but Huger deserves credit for how he turned what was mess of 15 scholarships into 11 players playing pretty distinct roles

Was good to see Coach Loeffler and his family sitting courtside at the game yesterday. It doesn’t mean anything about his coaching ability (which doesn’t need to be debated here) but it makes me like him more as a dude when he’s out supporting other BG sports.

Good to see the full team get minutes. Robert Morris is a bad team. They only had 3 players return from last years team. Their only win was over Lancaster Bible College.

Yes. I am not a big fan of his, obviously, but the growth we've seen in the group since the first game has been pretty remarkable. Robert Morris looked beyond terrible, so tough to draw real conclusions from that, but it's nice to just cruise to a ho-hum blowout when you play those beyond terrible teams.

I'm especially pleased with the ability of Matheny & Curtis to play together and find shots for their teammates.
