You look at small schools like Pacific, Bucknell, Buffalo, of which their star players are from overseas. I think we are missing out on great international talent. There are kids in Europe that are dying to come to play in the US, whether or not it is a major or mid-major. He needs to get on the next flight to Germany and find someone!!!

I agree. From what I understand internationaly students don't typically eat up scholarships. My brother is on Penn states gymnastic team, and I think alot of their international guys are supported a lot by their home country. This may only be true for the small sports, but a lot of other countries view playing in the US good training for them to bring back home. I think he should go to poland and get us the next superstar pollack. They have such fun names.

one of the answers is division 1-A football. bucknell and pacific don't have football at the 1-A level. that opens up a ton of money. bucknell plays division 1-AA and pacific doesn't even field a team. also, being private schools, they probably have a few more very generous donors than BG does.mossmaidi wrote:$$$$ is true. If that is the case though, I don't know how teams like Pacific, Bucknell, and Buffalo can afford them and we cannot. I certainly don't think those schools are all too different budget wise.
buffalo, well, they have one of the biggest athletic budgets in the MAC. they made athletics a priority in the budget when they jumped to 1-A a few years ago.
TO BILL BRASKY!!!!
