2/4 vs. NIU

Post by bghkyfan74 »

-6.5 favorites tonight at home against a NIU team that has been rather competitive in their last 5 games despite being 1-4 in those games. Not sure if Butler will be back but would be helpful against a guard dominant NIU team. This will probably be a high scoring affair as NIU is one of the worst defensive teams in the conference.

BG breaks a 5 game losing skid with an 84-77 win. We really needed that Dub.

So nice to get back in the W column...felt like forever.

Nice games from Johnson, Thomas, Humphrey, and Butler especially.

NIU is awful defensively, but we took advantage of it. Now let's get a win against Coastal Carolina and build some momentum down the stretch of MAC play.

Oddly enough we're just 1 game out of the 6-seed (ignoring tiebreakers).

First time I have looked at the standings in awhile.

Here's how I think it'll shake out based on remaining conference games:
Central (9-9)
Western (6-12)
Ball State (9-9)
Eastern (6-12)
BG (7-11)

We get the 8th seed and play first seeded Akron.

At this point that would feel like a win. We gave them a helluva game at home, but man that feels like forever ago.
