Flynn Clayman, High Point coach and Simon’s top assistant at Southern Utah will be favorite to land it this time.

Trey Simmons committed to BG out of the portal. 6'1 guard, Maryland native.

He was the #5 scorer in all of D2 last year, with 24.2 points per game on 48.3% from the field and 38.0% from three. He had 8 games this season where he dropped 30+ for Frostburg State.

He'll have 2 years of eligibility, beginning this fall.

We have the key building block for next season's team now. Also excited our scoring guard should be a solid 3 point shooter unlike Hill and Campbell

4th school in 4 years...

I honestly feel bad for guys that have careers like that. They'll never have a true alma mater to call home and go back to when they're out of school. I guess such is the life of a college athlete in 2026, but it just bums me out.

He spent some time at Bradley this past summer, so it could almost be 5 teams in 4 years. I'm confident it was a mutual decision and best for everyone.

Played very little and got hurt. End of the bench guy who got the equivalent time of a walk-on. However, his dad was good.

Hearing John Groce is leaving Akron for Charleston. He had also got offered the USF job but they couldn't agree on $$ so the school pulled the offer.

Todd was seemingly a real candidate there 2 years ago, as was Tod K up north. Could be a very important opening this cycle.
Utah State is hiring Northern Iowa HC Ben Jacobson.

Defensively he's a mess. Effort was often lacking, but even when he was trying, he was just really bad at it. His length fit ok when they went to zone, but he couldn't really guard anybody 1v1.

That said, he was hands down our best shooter and probably 2nd best offensive player. He should've played more minutes, afaic. It was pretty clear that he & Simon weren't always on the same page; he seemed to be a pretty aloof kid. But dammit, we needed him on the court, and engaged.
