Good choice. He’s a great coach who knows the MAC and this region. They won’t miss a beat.

He was the #5 scorer in all of D2 last year, with 24.2 points per game on 48.3% from the field and 38.0% from three. He had 8 games this season where he dropped 30+ for Frostburg State.

He'll have 2 years of eligibility, beginning this fall.
Finally got around to watching his tape from last year and I'm excited about him being the main floor general next season. Fast, athletic, above average shooter and solid passer at the D2 level. Not often you see 6'1" guys dunking as effortlessly as he does, especially at that level.

Both Leroy Blyden and Sonny Wilson from UT are in the portal. These two were high school teammates as well, so interested into how this plays out.

Blyden reportedly has a $2 million offer on the table from a P4.

Wilson, interestingly, is now represented by former BG assistant German Srulovich

Byers from Miami now in the portal. Also, second team all MAC, and repped by the same former BGSU assistant coach.

Groce has won 6 of the last 11 Mac tournaments he was in. You can't replace that. Even if they stay in the top tier of the Mac that opens the door some for others

Same guy who laughably said he was coming back to lead Toledo to a title

BG secured a commitment from 6'5" Guard Zach Howell from Drury University (D2). Grad Transfer with 1 year of eligibility.

17.6 pts 4.7 reb 2 ast 1.3 stl
52 2fg% 44 3fg% 85% FT
99 made threes in 31 games.

Hopefully this is the shooter we've been missing. He's got good size and a quick release.

If you can shoot, you can shoot. Looks like that guy can shoot. Really liking the two D2 additions.

Colin White, former Mr. Basketball player from Ottawa Glandorf, is transferring out of Ohio State. He will have two years of eligibility left and is an athletic guy who can shoot -- and likely will do very well in a MAC type conference. I'm wondering if given his roots, BG will be one of the schools he'll consider.

Apparently Simon thought he was out of eligibility, at least at one point.

I’ve heard he has a particular school in mind, and I’ve been hearing this since like January. Sounds like he wanted to go there last year and they told him he needed to improve 2 specific parts of his game and shoot x percentage and they would take him this time around. I’ll come out and say it if that’s where he ends up committing.

Oklahoma?

Campbell is not coming back to BG, and was not coming back to BG. Focus on keeping Shackelford.

Campbell gave us two great years and back in the normal times he'd be out of eligibility, so no issue with him moving on. Hope he goes and gets a $1mm deal. Have heard from others he's a good dude and loved BG.
