Spring Signing Period

Post by BleedOrange »

FYI: The spring signing period begins Wed, 4/13 and lasts until 5/18. With the departures of Monty and Fitch, we have three scholarships to give.

All I know on that is what has been posted here. If there's any question, it would be nice if someone in the know would let us know. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him stay if he gets stronger.

In the Sentinel, Coach said that other than "that Fitch deal" everyone was due back "at this time." So, I would say its not definite, or he would have said so.

I really don't think Monty's coming back, that's the feeling I got.

Monty

I happen to see Josh Almanson about a week or so ago and he conveyed that Monty was better than not odds of leaving. It was just a matter of being released from his schollie. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what all would go into DD's decision to release Monty from his scholarship. Monty has made his decision early enough in the recruiting season that DD can replace him with an additional recruit (unlike Dildoboa). I would think that that would count for something. If DD would choose not to release him, then Monty would have to pay his own way next year, whatever school he chooses.

So it will be interesting to see if BG announces any signings on Wednesday.... hope we get a "pure" shooter in the mix, as well as a PG and another "Big Guy"...would make for a balanced recruiting class if we indeed have 3 schol. to give.

From what I hear, we have one committment and are offering two more, including a player from Yugoslavia.

Hmmm. Sometimes, DD likes to sit on scholarships. I guess he isn't this year, which is mildly surprising because Ohio's junior class is LOADED like you can't fricken believe.
