I'm just hoping this kid doesn't get homesick. In every article that I've read he has talked about the distance of all these schools to where he lives. Yes, he says that he feels comfortable now about the distance but I hope that enthusiasm stays. We had a few others believe they could handle the distance from home and that hasn't faird too well.

Fortunately, Fort Wayne is towards the NE corner of Indiana. It's not particularly far from BG, maybe 2 hours.


PrepSpotlight had Sims in their national top 150 going into the spring. Unfortunately, he was a little off in the spring showings and fell on their list. He's still in their top 250. He scored 29 against OSU commit Mike Conley. Michigan State, Indiana, and ND were involved, as well as other MACs and A-10s.

When he wants to play, he’s a high-major talent with questionable size, but you have to wonder about a kid who doesn’t seem to be putting out during the evaluation period. If he continues his sub-par efforts, Sims might be destined for IUPUI ..."

Whoa, a 4.2 40? Sounds like he'd make a nice reciever for us us if he has the hands. But I don't know , sounds like a great find if he is indeed a "freak" athlete which is great , but if you dont' play hard all the time just how is that going go over well with DD? This kid might be in for a rude awakening which could just spell this kid transfering a year later after playing for us if he's not up for how DD's going to be coaching him. Hope this kid turns out to be a great steal for us.

If there is anyone in the country who can make him play to his potential it is Dakich. If he is unwilling to play to his potential, he will run home like others have done, and if he does, oh well! We need to promote a competative culture here that preaches playing hard every time, all the time. Period.

I don't put much faith in the 4.2 number. That is world class speed. I don't think Ted Ginn runs under 4.3?

I do however, think that there is a good chance he is quick, and might be the type of athletic pouint guard we need to stay with the point guards at Kent, Toldeo and Ball State. If indeed he is that athletic and quick, I can envision him being a perfect fit for Dackich's pressure defensive style of play.

For my money, David Greer of the early 80's was the epitome of a point guard for BG!

Yeah it's me. To quote a familiar Coach "players don't know how to play hard before they come to college"...This kid can play. You got a player that should be -- again should be -- one of the top perimeter threats in the MAC by his sophomore year.

I think you're right on the money here. Greer was awesome floor leader. It's no surprise that he's a successful coach.
