So I have very little patience and/or compassion about "makeshift" line-ups with Floyd at 2G. Apparently, we need to spend more time finding the NCAA Clearinghouse Handbook and less time blaming officiating.
That's a very fair point. Winning programs stay winning programs with continuity. Tradition. The veterans set standards and pass an attitude of winning to the younger players. We've had nothing like that over the past five years. Instead, we've had a lot of flailing around. We've mostly seen makeshift lineups, transfers/dropouts, short benches, and players playing out of position.

We should expect more from Dakich

I was at the game Thursday night. IMHO, the coaching staff lost the game for the Falcons. Don't blame the officials, don't blame an inexperienced team that are getting to know a new system and new teammates. 3 Technical Fouls on the coaching staff resulted in more than the 6 point difference in the game. How many coaching errors should the team have to overcome?

The only way to describe Dakich is "Bush-league". Who is responsible for keeping Dakich under control? One of the Athletic Directors should have have a serious conversation with him about the way he represents us. If he were in the NBA he would have been slapped with a major fine for his antics with the officials. He gets paid to coach the team. Seems tough to do your job when you are in the lockerroom for the last 13+ minutes of the game.

In the first game of the season shouldn't the coaching staff be more concerned with helping a young team improve than whether or not the officials are doing a good job?

Dakich owes our team an apology.

Now let's talk about the assistant coaches. No-one was in charge after Dakich's forced departure. Shouldn't they have learned from Dakich's mistake of being on the court and getting T'd up? Oh no, they get warned about being on the court and then they get T'd up just like the head coach! Embarassing for the University and frustrating for the Falcons. Every time the team picked up some momentum the coaching staff put a halt to it. The team did mount a big comeback while the Assistants were running the show, but more credit goes to John Floyd than the coaching staff. Floyd takes a lot of heat from the members of this forum, but he played solid, and gave a young team the desperately needed leadership they deserved, because the team sure wasn't getting that leadership from the coaches. Lefeld's quote was right on.

We would have won this game if not for the behavior of the coaching staff.

Of course not...

Both the team and the coaches were completely different on Saturday against the Hokies than they were against WCU. Although Dakich did get another Technical Foul called on him Saturday for being on the floor. (again)

We win the game on Saturday by 1 point and Dakich gave the other team at least one point (maybe 2) based on his Technical foul.
