All the players we have lost

Post by commonsense »

There has been alot of talk about players early exits lately. Ive been thinking, since the 1999-2000, (cause thats as far back as I can find information) how many falcon basketball players have not finished their eligibility at BGSU. Lets see the comparison between the early exits and the finishers

Early Exits

Seth Doliboa
Kelly Hunt
Graham Bunn
Dubrey Black
Ray Austin
Eric Crawford
Kris Wilson
Raheem Moss
Isaac Rosefelt
Reggie Harwell
Cris Hobson
Ron Lewis
Jabari Mattox
Scott Vandermeer
Austin Montgomery
Germain Fitch
Jeremy Holland

Finishers

Anthony Stacey
Dave Esterkamp
Trent Jackson
Keith Mcleod
Brent Klassen
Brandon Pardon
Lenny Matela
Cory Ryan
Kevin Netter
John Reimold
Josh Almanson
Cory Eyink

Cole Magner and Keon Newson quit also but should be counted differently.

Let me know if you have any others, I would bet that the number of early exits will grow before the end of the semester.

If you're counting Cole & Keon differently the same should happen for Kelly. He was a big time Baseball recruit, and not a big time hoops recruit. He played out his eligibility for the baseball team, and was one of the best hitters in BG history. I believe he's still in the Detroit minor league system, but he struggled last year and is getting awfully old for "prospect" status.

Just to spark some more discussion though, Shouldn't you kind of sub divide your list of early leavers. For example, Germain Fitch probably would have finished, though injury prone, had he not decided to self-medicate. Are there others in your list that are out due to injury. What about just quiting vs transfering.

Mattox quit halfway through his Senior season when the knee injury left him basically useless. He no longer had any quickness at all, and couldn't play the defensive game that he was known for.

Kris Wilson left for VERY extenuating circumstances that I don't think should count against the program.

We should also create separate categories for players who transferred into the program (Reimold and Jackson). You could then create a sub-category off of that for transfers in who held up gas stations.

You could also create individual categories for mama's boys, dolts, candy asses and guys who were completely delusional about playing in the NBA. You could put the whole project on your wall and use little bits of colored string to tie guys who overlap from group to group together.

I imagine it could be a pretty amazing waste of time for just the right obssessive compulisive whack job....

Great idea Flipper! Before we hang the project on the wall, we can show it to Paul Krebs so he can use it as justification for firing Dakich, Brandon, and Curt Miller. I figure it is only a matter of time before the Women's team loses a game or two and people start calling for Miller's head, so we may as well get rid of him too!

Isn't it weird that the better players all have stayed? Funny how that works...

Isn't weird that we recruited and gave scholarships to a bunch of idiots with no skills? Funny how that works...

Funny how there are two sides to a coin. The truth of the matter is that every college in the NCAA has hits and misses, it just a matter of trying get more hits than misses. I know for a fact that UK has had their share of misses, it's just that if you're not a die-hard fan, you fail to see all of the misses and only really notice the hits come tournament time.
