From everything I've read about Coach Orr, he seems very qualified to lead our program. I like the fact he had success in the Big East...pretty tough conference there. I am excited to see what he brings to the table!!

Every year I watch the NCAA Tourney and every year wonder when the hell is BG gonna get back there?

I hope he does a kick ass job.

Just to add some perspective, I dug this old thread out when Lou was hired at BG. I never liked the hire and I always prefer an up and coming assistant or head coach at a smaller school stepping up. I hate the idea of hiring someone with a known name who has failed at a bigger D1 school.

I hope this time they go the young route...

I am not "psyched" and am actually pretty disappointed with this hire. I don't see Orr coming in and making an impact like a Oppenheimer or one of the OSU assistants. Oh well, I'm used to it by now.
Hmmmmmm............................... Little did I know that a stupid AD would give this joke an extension and it would end being 7 years, with many of those years not reaching .500.

I have seen people say he did a good job with the team this year because he was able to win in spite of injuries. He created the problems by not recruiting a full roster.

So I guess we went with Orr else?

Reading through this thread I have to give props to Rollo for his comments at the time of the hire.
