F**k him if he can't take a little criticism from a bunch of armchair coaches.
If we're so fricking dumb, why even worry about what we're saying in the first place?

So, let me get this straight. IF Coach Dakich sent Coach Brandon that message with those words, and he then gave an interview and said the same thing, he is classless. BUT YET, everyone can come on here and question there attitude, coaching ability, and character, and that's unacceptable?
That's pretty much the way it works in the real world. If a CEO said those words about the shareholders on CNBC, the institutional investors would have him thrown out before he even made it back to his corner office.

I think that you guys that are taking issue with DD's little text message to GB need to get a grip in the most dire way.

First, he definitely reads this site. He said that all the people on "the web site" would be mad because the football team didn't win by more. Says he texted Coach Brandon a note that said "________ them. A win is a win."

Loves Rod Marinelli. Predicts good things based on two players talking about accountability.

Says that most players he encounters always something to be someone else's fault. Only when they stop thinking like that can they be real good. Says Stacy, McLeod, Esterkamp, Reimold, etc, all wanted to quit, but decided to be real good instead.

To the contrary, says two players left the team last year saying that DD was trying to screw them (or words to that effect). One is at W. Virginia Tech (or wherever Moon is) and one at Northern Kentucky (any guesses????)---both DII, so that didn't work out for them.

Loves his current team. Said he worked over Daryl Clements during a workout the other day and then he lit it up after that. Of course, DD wants him to compete like that without being worked over. Thinks Clements can be MAC POY. Also says that another guard (Guerin? Moten?) has really improved over last year. Talked up Polk and the other kid from Michigan--good grades, big kids, good players. "Achievers," he said.
Dakich also thought Cory Eyink would be the player of the year in the MAC.

If he really texted **** them a win is a win. That is fine. Repeating it in an interview is not.

The text message thing doesn't bother me at all...I just think Dan sounds kind of petty when he carps about the "internet". We have probably half the people in the BGSU community that still give a crap about the program he's turned into a shambles posting here...sorry if we don't like the direction the program is taking or always see the wisdom in the actions of the coach

Well, in a few short months we won't have to worry about any of this. If BG renews his contract they are insane. Good luck back in Indiana coaching JV ball coach!! Maybe there won't be any "internet" guys talking about your games there. We only have to wait until March.

I think thats a bit rough. Dakich needs to go, but he is still a great guy and a solid coach. This situation, after he returned was not a good situation.

Can Curt Miller coach dudes?

Hell no! I have no doubt that Miller can coach anyone he wants. But, the women have a good thing going with him right now. I want to keep that going as long as possible. In my opinion, he needs to stay right where he is!

It's easy to understand why DD, GB, and others high up in BG athletics would want to keeps an eye on these forums. They provide an excellent way to keep their finger on the pulse of the fanbase (although it would not influence coaching decisions in any direct way). However, the criticism of both DD and GB has been so intense, relentless, and disparaging that I can't imagine how it couldn't bother them on a personal level to some extent (no matter how well it might be deserved). If DD and GB want to say "f#*% 'em" in a private text message, I can easily blow that off. No coach in any previous era has had access to the kind of feedback these forums provide, and it can often be damned harsh. I don't know what I'd do if I were in their situation, except for paying close attention to advice from BleedOrange. ;)

This site is about 1/10 as critical as 90 percent of the fan message boards out there.

I really don't care what text message was sent. By announcing it to the world on the radio he made it public. Once that happened, he opened the door for whatever heat comes his way.

I guess in a sense, I can understand saying f--- them, because he or any coach shouldn't let us or anyone bother them like that with their coaching. I mean contrary to our beliefs on if they are doing well or not, they do have the coaching job, while we don't. Yet at the same time, you should kind of just shrug all the negative vibe. I mean, you have to expect negative vibe/comments all the time no matter what, because people like to bitch about everything. It's like a movie star being pissed off at the tabloids...you're a celebrity, it's what comes with the package. Same thing here, get over it, you will always have criticism, whether you have a perfect season or not.

He clearly should say F*** them in his mind and maybe even behind closed doors to Brandon. A coach under all of that scrutiny could not function by not doing this. However bringing it out in the media is as stupid as it can get. If he were a bigger school he would be getting reeemed by the national media..

Ack! You really think Miller could coach the men's team? I think you are in the extreme minority on that one.

There will be a new coach soon, but it sure as hell won't be Miller. If it is, I'll stop sending my check. I doubt I'll be the only one.
