Welcome to the World of Toledo Sports Fans. We absolutely cannot go to a sporting event on that campus without wanting to punch someone or just shake our heads in disgust at their lack of any couth. They pride themselves on their obnoxiousness. :smt078 Sorry you had a bad time.

falconmama2007 wrote::twisted: This was the most unsportsman like conduct from fans I have seen thus far this season. For the next few years that I will be attending BGSU games I will not attend a home game in Toledo again. The seats were horrible. We were assigned to sit adjacent to the student fan section in a corner. When you tried to move to a better seat the usher would come down and make BG fans move. Well that is except for my party because I wasn't having it. I let the guy know from the start when he tried to harrass me to seat me I was not to be messed with and he backed off. But I witnessed him tell others to move out of unoccupied seats.
Those are all parts of the reason why I decided not to go this year. I hate missing a game that's so easy to get to, but it just isn't worth it to go to Savage Hall. Aside from never seeing us win there, I've never had anything approaching an enjoyable time. That same usher is there every year, and their student section--especially the "Blue Crew"--spends more time giving BG fans the finger than they do actually watching the game.

there not the only ones who give the finger, after last years women's comeback win at Savage, some lady on the other side of the arena gave us the finger

thats true, I wanted to do that after the men's game there last year, and I always want to do that to the blue crew

Give me a break...You mean to tell me that you guys are the "friendliest" fans in the world as well???? Stop it. The last football game I went to at the dolt, I was with a couple of family members. We were dressed in our team colors and all game long we heard a group of falcon fans, who obviously just turned 21, using profanity, calling the UT players names, and so on.
Also, if you recall the game at the Glass Bowl when you were up 27 to 7, yeah that one. There were bg fans name calling and swearing in front of families with their kids.

So before you start casting stones, just know that it happens in every stadium and arena. Don't pretend that you guys are innocent. Grant it, these are the minority, and I am sure that most "true fans" love the sport and appreciate the rivalry. I mean look at OSU and Michigan. You want to talk awful. Buckeye fans are the worst!!

Don't take this the wrong way. Just stating the truth!

Man, are you kidding? That's the best!

Some of the best fun I ever have is going to road games dressed up in brown and orange (when our team is actually GOOD) and sitting with all home fans. Kent, Akron, Ohio, and Toledo games brought out vile like I couldn't believe. Ohio State fans, when AD beat the schmuckeyes, were rotten. Asked for it, gave it right back, and loved every minute of it.

I never did try it at Marshall. I may be stupid, but not suicidal.

What you said is probably true. Especially the part about OSU. Their fans are worse than just about any college in the United States not in the SEC.

How do I despise thee(Toledo fans),,,let me state the ways.

Last football game I went to- car vandalized :irk: Really the only place I would not go to the dark concession stands alone.

Last basketball game I went to- told to F%^$%^$%$ You just for walking down the hall in BG colors. Oh- and her about 7 year old yelled BGSUCKS to me. They teach them early there. :smt076

Our Cheerleaders being pelted with objects and spit upon. :smt011

But the topper, was the article in the Blade years back about the guys that hung around the fence that used to be there. And how they harrassed everyone who went by and were proud of it. Yep, those are the kinds of fans I would feature.

I agree every stadium has their share of people who drink too much and get too mouthy. But the pervailing atmosphere at BGSU is to cheer FOR our team. Toledo has yet to prove to me that they don't live to Yell AGAINST the other team.
Have I ever been obnoxious at a game....hmmmmmmm back in the day... it might have been the refs, or the other team (AN-GIE!) but not to the other fans just for being there. :smt021

College kids drink, gather in groups, and act like dicks. It doesn't matter where they choose to attend school.

They were behind our team in front of the UT fans and were getting hit- whether they were aiming at the team and had a bad aim, I don't know, but it happened.

Anyways, I agree, there are ridiculous actions everywhere. Some people just go out of their way to show their lack of sportsmanship.

If they were getting hit by stuff not intended for them its likely that one of our QBs threw it. :-D Seriously, this is all pretty funny-I can say without question that CMU fans are the all-time worst because I've had two REALLY bad experiences with CMU fans. That would be as stupid as saying that UT fans are the worst, or BG fans are the worst. I usually sit in the cheap seats where the fans are mixed up and have a good time comparing notes with BG fans. I haven't spit on anybody ever and my arm isn't good enough to hit a BG cheerleader with anything. I HAVE been spit AT after BG games by BG fans (last year's game at AA), and called everything in the book there over the years. Believe me -no biggy at all. When you win its all good and when you lose the other team and their fans are miserable, no class cretins.

NO NO NO...besides OSU fans being the worst, Marshall, while they were in the MAC were the ALL TIME WORST fans ever!! Hands down. Went to two MAC championships there, in which we lost both. While walking out of the stadium, we had on these "hill jackers" call us everything in the book all the way to the car. Then, they were pouring their beer on the car and spitting on the car as well. Shows how smart they are...they spilled their beer on purpose.

They were the worst in the MAC at the time! Now, I would have to agree that CMU is right up there!
