I'm glad Hammb started a thread like this and we got the win. I get tired of the, "Oh, f### we're doomed," posts every week by some people.transfer2BGSU wrote:Oh ye of little faith.bgsufalcon24 wrote:A loss, and we're staring a 1-4 conference start right in the face.
After tonight, we're 2-1 in conference play. We can beat Miami and Akron.
I started the thread because I'm saddened at how little talk our hoops team has gotten in the past couple weeks. Especially since our last 3 games have come against probably the best 3 teams on our schedule. In that stretch we went 1-2 and really competed our butts off in all of them. Tonight we got to play a team that is closer to our talent level and we completely dominated them...I liked that.Tricky_Falcon wrote:I'm glad Hammb started a thread like this and we got the win. At the risk of sounding like a blind optimist, I've actually really liked the way we've been playing the last few weeks. Otis has really been stepping up (4 straight games w/o foul trouble!). Moten's been playing better, and Darryl is actually starting to contribute as well.
Tonight's game was a nice change of pace. We're the ones who jump out to a big lead and hold on for an easy double digit win. A nice change of pace, no? Otis had his first (hopefully of many) career double-double. Moten had a huge game. Clements played VERY well. In fact we dominated in a game that our thought to be two best players (Knight & Miller) really didn't play all that well. That's very nice to see. This team is going to go through plenty of growing pains, but we've seen some good signs of what is to come, I think.

One thing is very obvious, Orr has this team playing with intensity on the defensive end. Watching how disruptive our interior defense was it was just like watching the ladies, they were batting balls away, getting steals, really making life miserable for Buffalo inside. Couple that with the fact that Buffalo couldn't hit an outside shot to save their lives, and you've got a nice BG victory.
The next two games against Akron and Miami are huge. Once those games are over, its 6 games against the extremely crappy West Division.

Coach Jackson's work with OP is starting to show dividends. The only game I had a chance to see live was against Indiana State. I was impressed with the teams effort. They kept fighting the whole game. This team is buying into Coach Orr's philosphy
I am looking forward to seeing the improvement live on the 30th against Ball State. Go Falcons!

Indeed, the next two games against Akron and Miami are important. Akron is 3-0 and will be very tough to beat in their place. I'm not quite sure what to make of Miami. Even a split in these two games and we would be sitting at 3-2 heading into those 6 games against the West.bgsufalcon24 wrote:One thing is very obvious, Orr has this team playing with intensity on the defensive end. It's people like you that have absolutely NO IDEA as to what is going on in a game that make posts like yours that make me laugh out loud - HA HA HA!The Niz wrote:Witherspoon is a deuche by the way. If you had any sense of knowledge, you would know that UB had no per diem money remaining. If he could get BG to score 85 points and a win, then FREE TACOS from Taco Bell! He just wanted to feed his team before they departed for Oxford. It almost worked too - if we could only hit those free throws! Can't blame Witherspoon for trying to look out for his team.

If that was REALLY his plan, he would have just pulled his players off the floor with .6 left and hope we hit the technical free throws. Not that any ref would have the stones to make a call like that, but with tacos at stake, who knows?transfer2BGSU wrote:It's people like you that have absolutely NO IDEA as to what is going on in a game that make posts like yours that make me laugh out loud - HA HA HA!The Niz wrote:Witherspoon is a deuche by the way. Look here you Hoosierdouchebag 8) - Witherspoon knows he cannot afford to get a technical foul called at AA. After all, he already had someone standing on the sideline with a sign reminding him to stay away from the buzzer. If he were to get a technical at AA, no telling what the sign would say next year!TG1996 wrote:If that was REALLY his plan, he would have just pulled his players off the floor with .6 left and hope we hit the technical free throws.
