I agree that one of the biggest hurdles for this team is depth. So if we get into any sort of foul trouble it's a problem. Not to mention the fact that we have to deal with a fatigue a little more than other teams. We only play about 7 guys on a regular basis.

- Giraffe
- OP
- Joe-Jak
- CK
- Miller
- Darryl
- B-Mo

Beyond that it's questionable. In my opinion the next best player off the bench is Cam, he's not a bad option because he's athletic, but often looks confused on where he's supposed to be on the floor.

After that you have Sims and the walk-on.

With no one on the current roster graduating.....I think the improvement for this program will continue next year with Easy-E coming back from his medical red-shirt year and Austin Calhoun and Dee Brown coming into the program. I think Calhoun looks like a guy who can play for us right away. I mean just look at him in my pic. He's ready to dominate

Hammb,
Guys in the chat room were eagerly awaiting your opinion of the game last night. It was pretty funny...not funny we lost, though.

SPANK THE ZIPS!
My take on the game?

Well, I think I pretty much summed it up in my previous post. We just didn't want it as badly as EMU did. We pretty much lost the hustle battle the entire game. The officiating was absolutely terrible, but it's not the reason why we lost. It sure doesn't help though...this team is not built to play in games that are called so touchy...we don't have the depth.

Miller played well at times, but he should not be our primary ball handler. He takes too many risks...he'll get some easy baskets for guys, but turns it over just as often. He's a very good SF, but he's no PG. Clements came alive for stretches of the 2nd half after getting 2 quick fouls and struggling most of the first. Polk was in foul trouble all night, but was able to get some offense going when he was in there. Larson got a couple boards, but was his usual self. Knight scored some points early then seemed pretty quiet the rest of the night. Moten had a pretty good game. JoeJak really struggled last night. His shot wasn't falling and he wasn't able to get to the basket much.

Overall we didn't show good effort on defense or rebounding. That really hurt us, and we didn't have one player that had a consistently good offensive game. Miller was our best offensive player on the night, but seemed to turn it over 2-3 times when we had a chance to tie/take the lead.

One cool thing is that we did get to meet Otis Polk's HS coach. He informed us that Dee Brown is going to be a real good player for us. Discussing Otis he mentioned that he came around real late, and that he still thinks his best basketball is ahead of him.

Also, EMU's fans that were there were not bad. There were a group of 3 of them heckling coach Orr and our guys on the bench the entire game. Overall they missed a lot, but every once in awhile they had some funny lines. The 200 or so students that were there were actually able to get fairly loud once in awhile. If they could ever put 3000 people in that arena I think it'd be a great basketball venue. As it was though, it was pretty cool because we could hear most of what the coach was saying to the players :)

Typical MAC road game. Team shows up flat, officials favor the home team, home team wins fairly easily. That is life in this conference.
I thought the hecklers were pretty unoriginal. Yelling "Miller sucks" or "Joe check in" was pretty lame.?
NO, NO, NO, the WORST part of their "heckling" was when they showed their true intelligence or lack thereof once they started playing the "Ohio sucks" card.

1.They told us to go back to Toledo. What?! We're not Toledo, I told them to F Toledo. Nothing like being told to go back to your rivals' hometown.

2.The one guy with the Pistons coat on his seat had the audacity to ask "how are the Cavs doing?" What an idiot. I answered back "defending Eastern Conference champs" and started chanting "Game 5". Surely even he remembers that night at the Palace. If you're a Pistons fan why in hell would you attempt to go after a Cavaliers fan right now? That comment was, to quote BO, batshit insane.

HAHAHA...the "Ohio Sucks" card! We got that at Buffalo when the football team was there in Nov. A group of 50 or so students kept walking by our tg area chanting that. I told one doofus "I agree. Ohio sucks! How the hell did we lose to them???" I got a blank stare back. Not too sharp up there in Buffalo.

Of course after the game, those tools were nowhere to be found.

Bulls fans are the worst! At the women's basketball game, a few actually had the balls to give me crap about the GMAC Bowl...as their team was losing to us AGAIN, just like football, just like men's hoops. That's pretty hard talk from a team that couldn't win games in 1-AA let alone squeak out six wins once in a while at this level. They quiet down and disappear pretty quickly when the clock hits 0:00.

That's something else that got to me. What the hell has Buffalo ever won???? They act like they've been on top of the MAC in everything for years...and just the opposite is true. LOL! Nothing like spanking them to shut them up. Walking out of UB Stadium in Nov was great! Not a Bulls fan in site. One DB asked me why the hell I was wearing Orange and Brown at the football game. I told him "Cuz I'm an Akron fan". Again, that blank stare.....
