They were cheering too. I bet we sent a message to Akron as they were not as vocal. They didn't know if they were going to win and all that mess talking was limited.

So to all that came thank you so much. Please we have one more home game come to that one too!!!!!
Very good! We need to remember to appreciate those who come to games and stay before we worry about those that leave early or never come.

Neat contest at the game Saturday with the Plinko / Parachute thing as well as the FT and 3-point contest. When you have 8 planned media timeouts a game this is a great way to fill that annoying timeout. A portable 30 second clock for the contest would be a nice addition along with 5 more time filling contest to get fans on the floor. Both shooting contest could have been at one-on-one contest like the Mayor's contest the week before. 16 fans a game could compete. I really think we gotta treat our games like Minor League Baseball and get creative and a little goofy.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

fm2007,

I live in the Akron area so yesterday was the first chance for the Freaklings and I to get up to AA. We'll be back on 3/1. It seems the last couple years BG has a lot of home games during the week (impossible for me to get there) and fewer home games on the weekend.

This team is gonna get there....

Michael,
Plan on seeing me and Joyce on 3-1...still "hobbling" a bit, but at least I can walk well enough to get back on campus...and the thought of seeing THREE games on one day is neat (even if my wife isn't enthralled about the hockey game)...hopefully, she'll change her mind when she sees a game close up compared to seeing the games at the Q. Outside possiblity that two friends might be coming too, but they've been hemming and hawing and I don't intend to wait for them any longer.

However, the athletic department should approach the greek system as a group of students that could, collectively, improve the overall support for our teams. The greeks are already organized and unified. I've never heard of the university trying to levarage the greeks for improved student support. It's something to consider.

I know that officaily the band fraternity/sorority aren't "GreeK" but i think that there are many times where they are leading the cheerleaders at the games. They are in for the team and support them like mad....its actually very moving to see the Athletic Band as a whole(sicne im sure they're not all music majors/fraternity-cority members.)

Go Band!

I know I've comlained in the past about people not standing or cheering, but having a bit of a new perspective on it this year I have to say it bothers me more than ever.

Case(s) in point: the recent CMU (I think) game which went to OT and the Akron game this weekend.

I still do not understand how, with the game on the line (or going to OT) the fans cannot find it in themselves to stand or at least make some noise.

After that CMU game I promptly went and passed out/nearly puked from trying so hard to get people into the game and cheering, and to what result? Nothing.

I don't know what has to be done, but I hope to goodness that it happens soon. It's painful to see so many people so disinterested when the game is on the line.
