Well, that stamp is annoying.

Maybe he should have used the mushroom stamp instead.

My thoughts on the game.

looked like really good ball movement from what I saw and JAKO played great. Thats what we need offensively from a PG, drive and penetrate and be a great shooter from the outside. I know that Polk had too many quick fouls but defensively he provides a nice presence down low, and Larson has been a decent utility guy to play in his stead. That Center position is going to be ok. Moten, being more aggressive on offense is just what this team needs. I am already looking forward to next year and adding 4 Quality players to this team.

Ryan Simms also looked solid again yesterday.

See, cowboyjoe, we're just crazy to try and actually enjoy this win.

Beat a bad team and it's meaningless. Beat a average to good team and it's just something you're supposed to do because after all, they aren't great. Beat a great team and it's just a momentary fluke due to some injury or lucky calls that can be enjoyed for about 10 seconds before someone proclaims how important the next game is.

JoeFalcon all I was trying to say was that Detroit was favored to beat us with both of their guards out and people don't understand that. I wager "ocassionally" and I know the odds. People don't know what to say when you tell them that Detroit was favored in the game.

3 points is what they give a team for being home--ok, Detroit favored by 1. Any takers at 3:59pm yesterday? Just like the Ball State game. Everybody said they weren't any good but they were favored as well against us.

What does the spread matter to anybody but you, Joe?

Because "people" said that Detroit was a bad team. Maybe so but they were supposed to beat us. That's why it matters to me. It was a quality win in that we weren't supposed to win according to the experts? Did you think we were going to win Jacobs?

No, it's definitely true. Detroit was favored by 4. Why would yesterday not be a quality win? Phoenix was favored by 2 over the Pistons today and the Pistons blew them out. Not a quality win for the Pistons? Come on...I'm finished after that little tidbit.

I find it hilarious that you, somebody who "knows the odds", believe that because Detroit was favored by 4 points, the "experts" believe they are the better team. It's a great win because we're a young growing team and we blew somebody out on their home floor. It's not because Detroit is a better team by any measure, including an imaginary number designed to elicit a certain response by the gambling public in order to make the house a profit.

A win is a win, especially on the road. Even if it is against the Little Sisters of the Poor, it is a win. :-)

Actually the spread is usually affected by the home team +3 points in college football. The home team in college basketball usually gets +7 points.

Why was Detroit favored by 4 if they were such a "bad" team?
Not to downplay our win, but keep in mind Detroit's leading scorer Jon Goode, who averages 19.3 ppg, did not play because of an injury.

Doesn't matter to me, because we won and we won handily. That's what you're supposed to do to teams like Detroit and we took care of business. We played quite well, actually, so no complaints here. I don't really care what the spread said Detroit was not a good team, and to argue that they are seems pretty stupid to me.
I heard that. Just win games...the margin was nice but it was a road win in a place that is usually pretty hard on opposing teams. If we can come away with 2 wins in the last 3 games, we can finish 15-15, 8-8 MAC. Not too shabby for Orr's first year. It will be difficult. Kent comes in Sat on a huge roll and Buffalo beat Ohio the other night. Miami will be looking for revenge as well.

Nice job Falcons!!! BEAT KENT!
