Who said Coach Orr failed at a "BCS Conference." Seems like he did pretty well.

It also takes time for a program to fall apart. We have certainly seen two indicators of that 1) player trouble 2) second have losses.

We have also seen great things from the team and the coach. You can interpret his successes and failures any way you want to. I am just enjoying the ride as we go. He has certainly infused excitement into the program.

And fire the new men's soccer coach!!!! What? Really? Oh, he hasn't been hired yet? Sorry about that.

Give Coach Orr and his staff a chance. He did well at Seton Hall....give him time.

If he was relieved of his duties then he probably failed in my opinion. They don't usually dismiss successful coaches. He was 80-69 in five seasons at Seaton Hall. That's roughly a 54% winning percentage. If he goes 16-14 and 9-7 in the MAC every year there will be some unhappy people on this board.

It's fine with me if he goes 9-7 in the MAC every season, as long as he wins three or four games in Cleveland every year.

Since we went to the two-division conference in 1995, no 10-8 team (or worse) has won a MAC tournment championship.

I'd have to look it all back up, but I seem to remember that it took Orr a few years to get rolling at SH. He had a couple really good seasons (with early NCAA losses). From the accounts that I read it seems that Orr was fired for 2 reasons. One, Seton Hall thinks they are more than what they are. He had more winning seasons & NCAA berths than what they had seen in awhile before he got there. Secondly I also seem to remember there were some rumblings about his religious views at a Catholic university.

I don't know about the religious stuff, but the guy was a relatively successful coach at Seton Hall. He had a winning record, and I think he even won Big East Coach of the Year once. The man can coach, but we have to give him a chance to get his talent here. His track record along with the state of the program when he was hired earns him a long honeymoon, IMO.

Relax we have waited forty years to return to the NCAAs... it will not be that long before we return. I would say within the next twenty to thirty years we will go.

Careful what you with for...

With it being the day of the last bowl for the MAC, I think back to when the commish was begging and pleading for more teams in a bowl game. Remember when Miami was 10-1 about 10 years back and was not invited anywhere? Well Mission Accomplished! - now we have 5 teams playing... We really need Ball St to step to the plate tonight and take it to a good Tulsa team. Really they are probably the only bonified team from the league worthy of a bid. God, I hate to think back to BGs experience last year. That turned off lots of the people in my section of the stadium. When I ask them why they didn't renew tickets they pointed to that one game. (Nice game plan GB)
All things considered, lets leave it at one NCAA bid with Hoops.

Orr didn't fail at Seton Hall.

By the way, "BCS" doesn't apply to basketball, just football.

I'd like to invite the original poster, whoever he/she is, to stop flatulating at the keyboard and pay some attention to factuality.

[We all want Coach Orr to succeed. We desperately want and deserve a NCAA Tournament Team, but teams can't have players stomping off like five year olds, technical fouls for not submitting line-ups on time and consistent second half meltdowns. I'm not saying Coach Orr is done, I hope I'm wrong, but I'm predicting trouble i.e. lack of success with this program.

I'll be the first to admit, and will gladly do so if I'm wrong, but I have a very bad feeling about the state of Falcon Men's Basketball.]
