Saw game and It was MAC officiating at its "best." Charlie was milking every strategy in the book. BG generally got called for ticky-tack stuff and Miami could pound the crap out of BG.

Louis Orr was more riled up than any time I've seen after M 41 took down Thomas on the break and didn't draw an intentional or flagrant foul. A hit from behind like that in hockey would have been a 5 min major. The players were loving seeing Louis get steamed.

Thomas didn't shoot well be he had several big boards and a couple of steals. It was a fun game to watch. The late foul on JJ was a good one in my book -- his foul a little earlier on the three point try was legit but bad because the shot was taken from downtown Toledo.

probably the best game to watch this season at Anderson for the men. i thought the team did well to stay in the game in the first half and came back in the 2nd and stepped it up. Otis had a few nice dunks.

i actually didn't mind the foul with 1.9 seconds left. we're up 3. rather than letting them shoot to tie, we tried to steal the ball and possibly commit a foul.. sending them up to the line for a one and one where they have to make the first, intentionally miss, hope for a rebound and quick put back is probably more unlikely than the 3 point attempt at the buzzer. i actually was looking for that, not sure why teams don't do that more.

it was a fun game. i have to complain about some of our own fans. yelling at refs and complaining after every single possession for both teams, and telling the refs to study the rule book when they themselves are calling for defensive 3 seconds was pretty comical. all schools have em, just kind of annoying when you're surrounded by them. scott thomas had me worried when he was fouled and came down on his wrist, but he seemed okay.

GOOD WIN!

It sounded like stretching "gamesmanship" to it's outer limits. I wasn't just there, I was living vicariously through Todd. Can you really say "this is crap" on the air?
That was priceless! And his comment "Why don't just use the TV to determine the game time" was great. Todd Walker...you are a sport broadcasting god.

Coles was an ass today....and I have a lot of respect for the guy.

I only made it for the 2nd half, but I must say this was by far the most enjoyable [half] game I've watched in Anderson this year. BG was playing up tempo, and there were some great dunks by Otis. I'm not exactly sure what it was that had Coles so upset, but he sure is fiery :)

I definitely agree with the call to foul with 1.9 left too. I do it every time, and I used to scream for it a LOT in the Dakich days where we wouldn't foul and just sit back allowing the opponent to get a look to tie the game. Let 'em take some time off the clock and foul before they can shoot. This is especially true, IMO, when they're still not in the double bonus. Love the call and it worked out today. I think it's a LOT more difficult for a team to make one, intentionally miss, rebound, and then make a bucket than it is to drain one desperation 3.

LMAO.

As I was walking in I was planning on greeting Grant and telling him to just call me Falconboy, but before I even got a chance to say it he yelled at me, "Hey Falconboy!" LOL

I wasn't at the game, but one look at the box score was all that was needed: Bryan Anslinger was one of the referees. He might be the worst in the country, IMHO. Anslinger had the worst single game I've ever seen an official have at Xavier-Butler in December of '08.

Anywho, great win. Now, go get Buffalo!

At game under basket where Thomas was fouled. Was not intentional or flagrant. It was hard, clean foul and it only looked bad because Thomas was trying to dunk the ball. 41 did not put two hands in his back or pull him down. If he would of gone with a layup he probably makes the basket and also goes to the line. Did have problem with the delay the officials took with lining up Miami for BG free throws late in the game.

I made the trip up with a busload of MU fans. Had a good time, just wish we could have finished up on the smiling end of the scoreboard. IMO, the Fletcher (41) foul looked clean. It was a hard foul, but from where I was sitting he appeared to go for the ball. Yes, Thomas went down hard, but it wasn't the result of Fletch trying to hurt him. Hayes went down just as hard against EMU a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't think that foul dirty, either. I think Coles was getting so upset because Orr was calling for a technical or flagrant and he was just defending his player. But anyway, congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the way.

Charlie Coles is still alive!? Look at the man, he's been dead 5 years and nobody bothered to tell him! LOOK AT HIM! Scheese...

Yes, and look at him set the all-time MAC wins record (currently at 201). Not bad for a dead guy.

I love Charlie Coles. He's one of the good guys. Class act all the way. He's a pleasure to work with every year at the MAC Tournament. Can't say that about some of the other coaches I've expereinced there.

Oh, I almost forgot to ask- what's with your band's bass player? Is he always so "energetic?" I was wondering if he thought he was in a music video or something.
