Valparaiso- 4 rebs., 3 turnovers= Terrible
Buffalo- 0pts., 1 reb, 1 turnover= Terrible
Miami- 9pts, 3 reb, o turnover=ok
NIU- 6pts, 3 reb, 0turnover=mediocre/ Jordon Crawford had 6pts. 2 reb, he's 5'6!!!!!
Western Mich-4pts., 4 rebs. and threw that full court pass to the other team=Terrible

Come on people, this sounds like american idol where peoples' friends tell them that they sing good when they can't then go on tv and embarrass themselves, lets keep it real!!!!
Oh yeah, you just keep on keeping it real by taking a thread about in the classroom accolades and use it to criticize his on the court play. That's keeping it real, alright.

It's also pretty douchey, if you ask me, but whatever floats your boat.

...and I'm somebody that's usually pretty vocal when it comes to criticizing the play of players...

Who out of grade school says this anymore? Anyways, I gave him his accolades for his class work, but this is also a basketball forum and I just said that his game wasnt good, I'm allowed an opinion.
That is all

No one is saying he is a good basketball player, they are saying this is the wrong place to bring it up since the thread was intended to congratulate him on his academic accomplishment

BINGO!

I'll be at the game tonight, and if you want to come discuss the qualities of Larson's play feel free. You won't get much of an argument from me though, I'm not a fan of his on the court game. I just think this honor deserves a chance to stand on it's on without qualifying every congratulations with a, "but he sure is a crappy player."

And yes, I realize my original post in this thread was somewhat guilty of that as well, and I feel pretty stupid for having phrased my congrats in that way.

The kid busts his tail and has done a tremendous job in the classroom. This is the thread to celebrate that accomplishment. Want to start a new thread talking about how much you think he sucks? Go for it, I just don't think this is the place to do it.

Jesus people...the kid is a divsion 1 scholarship athlete. Playing college basketball is pretty demanding...pulling straight A's is pretty demanding. I'm so fu**ing sorry that the kid's on court performance doesn't evoke memories of Shaq at LSU...You should try an be nicer to him. You're probably going to be cutting his lawn someday... :-)

+1

And I took issue with the first demeaning post because I believe he said Marc was not a good "athlete." There is a difference between an athlete and an all-star.
