What happened to all the great recruits the Sebo Center was going to bring in to BGSU? I am not nearly as involved as most of you are here but merely a concerned alumni. Something stinks!!!! :x
Well I don't know as though the new building has really brought in any great recruits yet...hopefully the Stroh Center will help in that regard.

I do think that some of the young guys on this team have some talent. Hopefully they'll develop.

Coach Orr's defensive mindset will never be the type of basketball I'd like to see us run, but I do still think he can be a good coach. Hopefully he'll be able to develop some of these guys into a good team.

I could be proven wrong, but that middle of the road A10 team looked DAMN good the other night. I don't know the quality of the A10 this year, but that team has some serious talent/athleticism.

The A-10 is a MUCH better conference than the MAC. It's not really even a contest. We haven't had 2 bids in like 400 years, and the A-10 probably gets 3 or 4 this year, one of which might be Duquesne.

Jay Bilas has the A-10 as the 6th best conference in the country, ahead of the PAC-10.

Blue Ribbon's grades for the Dukes:

BACKCOURT: B
BENCH/DEPTH: B-
FRONTCOURT: A-
INTANGIBLES: B

For us:

BACKCOURT: B-
BENCH/DEPTH: C+
FRONTCOURT: C
INTANGIBLES: B-

We played very poorly, but that wasn't Findlay in our gym.

First of all, Jacobs, I am glad that you made some money betting against the Falcons..I could never bet against them even if I knew what the score was going to be before the game started. Secondly, how does Oglesby and Dabney not get any playing time at all with them being 6-7 and 6-8 respectively? Has anyone seen them in the lay-up line before games? Their elbows are above the rim. I know there is a heck of a lot more to getting playing time than athleticism but they never see the floor and we continue to get out rebounded game after game. Are we that good that two 6-8 players never take their warm ups off?

*Betting against your favorite teams is the best strategy in the history of gambling happiness. I win either way. Of course, if we had lost by 3, I'd have probably burned something down.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've laid a bet on any of "my" teams. I bet against them constantly when the spreads are small. It's a good way to bet on games you have a lot of information about, without letting bias get in the way. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Plus, betting against pretty much all BG sports the last couple years has been pretty good business, sadly.

*if gambling were legal, of course

At least we improved our RPI. It went up from 346 to 340 (out of 348 teams). I wonder what the record is for lowest combined RPI between football and basketball for D1 FBS schools? Our football rpi is 113 out of 120. Can anyone remember a time when our mens sports have been so bad? Hockey is even having a better year, and they are still in last place. I don't really follow our womens team (although I respect what Kurt Miller has done), my only enjoyment lately is our baseball team in the springtime. Hopefully we can shoot 40% or better against WKU and get our first real win. I'll be at the game, let's turn this thing around!

A win over WKU would be a huge upset, they are good, really good.

If anyone is wondering Ohio Dominican is 2-5 coming off a a 27 point loss to Grand Valley State and a 26 point loss to Ferris State.

WKU is decent, but they aren't really good. They really have not beat anyone good, Alabama A&M, Hofstra, and Campbellsville. With losses to Davidson (badly), Minnesota (badly), a close loss to South Carolina, Vanderbilt (badly), and Memphis (badly). To say they are very good is a large overstatement. From my sources in the SunBelt, WKU is a team with a coach that doesn't fit. High expectations for a mid conference school and the coach is on the chopping block. WKU has many holes as most SunBelt teams do so the possibilty of us competiting if not beating them is pretty decent. If we shoot 40% with the defense we had against Michigan State in the first half then we can win. Also if we get Lauren Prochaska to teach our team how to shoot free throws then we will be solid.

Since you brought this up, BG's field goal % is now down to 0.358. That ranks 338 out of 347 Div I programs. We are 337th in points per game. Three point FG % is 0.246 for 342nd. Can anyone put the ball in the basket?

From what I've seen so far this year? No. :(

We have some athleticism and talent, but we have REALLY struggled to hit shots. Amazingly frustrating as a fan, can't imagine how it must feel for the coaches/players.

I have never supported changing coaches mid-year, but this team needs to be shaken up!

It's time to try it - nothing to lose - we are nowheresville. When the coach is quoting the Lord in his post game comments - its time.

I don't like saying, but I am a realist.

Was "it time" when the same coach was quoting the same Lord while winning a MAC championship? Just curious.
