BGSU will win the MAC when the Frack Pack attacks. Sorry had to throw that in there :-D .
Love this. It makes sense and is catchy. It may get my vote (with your permission of course!!) I also like the idea of having some students dress up for each game to create some excitement.

I submitted it earlier today already, how does the voting work? Do they select finalists and then from there the fans vote on it?

On the same topic, I like Oakland's O-rena, so how about the Stroh-rena instead of "the Stroh"?

Freddie and Frieda's Flock
Stroh's Bros and Hoes
Stroh Center Crazies
Flock of Falcons
Orange and Brown Clowns

OR, if none of those work for ya...how about a sign that says "Student Section"?

How about also a requirement that only current students can access the student section and the floor area. No alums, high schoolers, townies, ...

With the attendance at AA, you should be greatful just to get bodies in the door. "student section"? Save it for when the arena is really full.

I doubt this will be much of an issue at the Stroh where the student section will be moved to under the basket.

Even so, not sure it's a real great idea anyhow. Could you imagine how dull AA would look if it was only students in the student section? There'd be less than half as many people in that section than what there are currently in those courtside seats.

In year's past they have made an effort to keep the student section for the students in games where selling out was a possibility. But for your typical MAC game drawing 1200 fans it seems like it'd be pretty foolish to not allow people to just sit where ever they want.

I just feel like in a collegiate atmosphere, the students need a place that is their own, a place where the students undoubtedly belong. (And it's cool if the students bring a guest ... like the whole student guest pass idea in football.) Doesn't matter if it's football or basketball. You see student only sections in schools as small as Division III Wilmington College in SW Ohio and as large as University of Kentucky. I really feel it's an essential component of collegiate sports venues.

Agreed. The schools that I've been involved with have all had someone at the top of the student section that actually checks to make sure you are a student before going down to your seats. Students don't want to be there with people who clearly don't belong and it will actually help student attendance if this is made a rule IMO. It's all about atmosphere.

I'm fine with a dedicated student section, but not when it's the entire length of the best seats like it is at Anderson. What currently constitutes the Anderson Arena Student section is probably about 1000 of the 4000 person capacity. It'd be insane to reserve all of that for students only, and force your season ticket holders to sit in lesser quality seats.

Yep, Students at UK may have a dedicated student section, but its certainly not the lower bowl along the sidelines
