The sticker shock I got was the price of parking in the "elite" section. $100 for both is not bad but $200? I'll try that car pool thing and walking from across Wooster St. I think I can find a couple guys who'll let me park until they need the spaces in March :-)

As far as the team, the Orr kid will probalby start before the end of the season, not because he's the coach's kid, but because he looks good. Luke looked improved, it was great the see Jordan and TO and Cam playing much improved. I like the freshmen. The man defense will be super and make the game go much faster...maybe more free Tacos?

It's a pretty fun start to the season, but the thing that really annoys is that an escalator would have added about $350K to the total construction bill. Call me crazy but ins't that 1% of the total construction cost?

I guess, rather than attend most Falcon basketball games this year, as I have in the past, many game days and nights will now be spent in my old recliner with the cat in my lap -listening to the game on radio, popping my own popcorn and raiding the frig for a soda. It doesn't get any better than that
And this is where Mr. Thomas loses his credibility with me thereby negating his attempts at making points earlier in his tome. With this statement even if tickets were $5 he would find something wrong with the situation because as he admits in his mind it doesn't get any better than sitting at home listening to the game. And that's fine. But if that is his ultimate feeling then why waste the time complaining about the other issues?

I chose not to shop at Wal-Mart for a variety of reasons so I won't complain when they do xyz with their stores. If Mr. Thomas ultimately chooses not to attend events at the Stroh Center because in his mind it doesn't get any better than spending time on his recliner with his feline friend why waste the time complaining about it; it is the very definition of complaining for the sake of complaining.

Wow, Wayne you had to endure the torture of some kid asking questions to answer your questions....my God, you poor, poor man....$14 is steep, are you serious bro? I paid like $13 last spring to see frigging Rio in 3D...that was pure hell, but my kid had fun so I was good with it. It's what things cost nowadays...deal with it. Go bang and drum and defecate in a park and bitch about the 1% who control all the basketball tickets...you'll probably complain that the drums are too loud.
I pay $3,500 per seat for the right to buy my Dayton season tickets. Then $22 a seat for each game. I'm fine with it, because the demand is high and I get my money's worth.

Sorry, I would've responded earlier but I was in the park all weekend.

The stuff like poor concessions, unknowledgable ticket sales staff, and overzealous security forces are somewhat of an embarrassment, but that can be fixed over time with work. The part about the community not wanting to pay $14 for a ticket can only be fixed with one prescription...winning. If it's been said once, it's been said a thousand times...winning cures all ills.

If our men's basketball team won as many games as our women's team has the past decade, you know darn right well AA would have been sold out or darn close to it almost every game, and the same goes for the Stroh. Now I'm not delusional enough to think that Orr could build the type of dynasty that Miller has, but even a small bump in the standings would help immensely. Frankly I think we're much better off in this regard than we were at the end of the Dakich era, when we weren't drawing flies except for rivalry games against Toledo. We were going 3-13 in conference then, at least now we're usually middle of the pack.
