It's probably simpler than it looks. LUKE-O-WHICH, LUKE-O-VICH or LUKE-O-VICK perhaps.

Agree with flip here. He plays shooting guard in the video and in the video he is listed as a shooting guard. The only place that I can see him listed as a point guard is Verbal Commits page. I won't foreclose on the idea that he could become a point guard, he flashes nice handles and made a couple nice passes but atleast for 2013-2014 his role was shooting guard based on the video. Anything else is a projection.

Guys, you basing this on his role for a HIGH SCHOOL team during his JUNIOR year. He's a 5-11 ball handler with jets, hops, and court vision. To assume that D1 coaches project him as a collegiate SG is clueless.

I watched his video...I saw a guy playing SG...jets and hops yes...court vision? I don't know how you determine that when he didn't handle or pass the ball much.
You need to quit looking at the game with such a narrow focus. So he's 5-11 and plays as a SG on offense...does that mean he has to guard a 6-4 SG on D? No. Free your mind....

I'm no Dora the explorer but the clues that I used to decipher it were him playing shooting guard in the highlight video of him and him being listed as a shooting guard in the Huddle Video.

Looks like fellow senior CJ Johnson who took over the point guard duties last year from Malik (from what I can tell) is going to go to Wyoming to play football.

OK blockheads, let's make this interesting. When Malik shows up at BG, we'll see where he plays. I say PG. You blockheads say SG. The stakes? I dunno, I'm open. Beers? Public ridicule? Throw out some ideas. You guys will look silly. :)

Blockhead? WTF is your problem? I'm not saying he's going to play SG here...I'm saying I don't know he can play PG here because all he played on his highlight video was SG. They're two different skillsets ad he didn't show any of the traits associated with a PG because...drumroll...HE WASN'T PLAYING PG.

I get in trouble when my mind gets too foreclosed on things too. He might be a great pg. For right now he just looks like a great shooter with a quick release whose aggressive to the basket and it seems like his hs coach took the ball out of his hands for some reason.

Happy he is here. The more active athletic guards the better.

Thanks for the updates on these commits Globe. I really like what I'm seeing so far from all of them, statistically speaking, although I wouldn't mind seeing a few more APG from Malik.

Completely agree, not saying he can't play pg but he isn't being asked to in HS. Looks like a great athlete that we will love here regardless. He wasn't going to play PG next year regardless so he will have an entire season to develop there. I was reading on him and it said he had 3 dunks in one half in one of the twitter summaries. That's athletic for a 5-11 guy. Got to love it.
