Re: BG vs WMU
When I was a student, Tuesday nights were really busy...lot of evening classes or projects. This team has kind of come out of nowhere so I don't think it's too big of a shock that the students haven't adjusted their habits and schedules to accommodate a mid week game
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I was at the game. First gave of the season for me. Also got introduced after halftime. Great game! I think I'll find a way to come back for a few more. That was very good basketball and a HUGE improvement over what I saw over the past couple years. The last men's game I attended in person was the Michigan State game. This was worth it.
ROLL ALONG!!!

Amazing turnaround this season, its a shame that Bill Frack can't be with us to see his gracious donation go to such good use. but I'm sure he's watching from above. Jans is exactly the type of coach this program needed after Orr, someone fiery and someone the players want to play for and most importantly, will buy into his systems.

Great win, absolutely total domination by the Falcons last night.
One of my favorite Jans moments was after half we came out a bit sloppy, he calls a timeout and is halfway on the court asking his guys, "What the F*** are you doing!?" Easily heard throughout the arena. Love that fire.
61, you mentioned the fact that it is mostly last year's players, and I'm inclined to agree with the one caveat of PG play. Austin & Joseph aren't world beaters, but they are light years better at the PG spot than we ever had during the Orr tenure. Most importantly they are actually attempting to facilitate the offense rather than try to be the man (looking at you Crawford). I'll add though what Jans has been getting out of Henderson & Clarke has been fantastic. Henderson, especially, is looking like the type of player I thought he could be 4 years ago. It's really sad that we wasted 3 years of those two guys with Louis Orr. Oh well, Jans has them playing some good ball.
Parker had been having a rough go of it and the last two games (I think both off the bench) he's put up some big numbers. His shooting last night was on fire, and it's been one of my biggest issues with his game this year...he shoots way too many 3s at way too low of a percentage. Last night he was on though. Dickerson's shooting has really started to turn around too as the season has worn on.
The defense last night was stifling. Looking at WMU's stats they generally shoot a high percentage, but last night they got NOTHING inside and were forced into shooting 3s most of the evening. And they didn't shoot them well. If I had to guess I'd say the presence of Holmes (who did have at least 3-4 blocks it seemed) completely took them out of their gameplan. Very refreshing to see US be the ones dictating how the game is going to go.
This team can play some ball. I think we've got the best coach in the MAC. I cannot wait to see how he builds this program with his recruiting, but right now I'm enjoying the hell out of THIS season, which is better than I expected. Really hoping I get a chance to see this group play in Cleveland, and if they keep winning that'll pretty much be a lock.

I think we have the best coach in the MAC right now too. I know it's early but I sure hope we can get some more money to throw his way and lock him in here for at least a few additional years, because I have to imagine some huge programs are already beginning to take notice.hammb wrote: This team can play some ball. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Completely agree. Gotta try our very best to keep Jans a Falcon for as long as possible.drumstix2388 wrote:I think we have the best coach in the MAC right now too. He seems to have multiple looks on offense and defense ready to go for in-game adjustments ..... brilliant! He also seems to have a very good handle on putting guys in the right spots and getting them to play 100% to their ability. I can't wait to see what kind of kids he brings in. If we get some top level talent, I do believe we can be the "Butler or Gonzaga of the MAC" [did't Bill Frack say that?]. I think this season is just the beginning. Keep up the good work coach!
