48-19 in second half. That's terrible.

If you include the exhibition game Wes AlceGaire is 6-27 from the field. 22% from the field. At 35 I am fairly certain I could do that well.

I just love how people that aren't at the game, complain about the size of the crowd! :butthead:

Well, this Cincy team was truly a "challenge". Either we aren't very good, or they are very good, or both!

I don't remember the percentage, but off the top of my head, they rained 3's and we couldn't even get shots off. We can't compete in the paint, we can't shoot 3's, and our FT shooting sucks. Plus, we were very slow on defense. Yet, this may be the best team we face all year.

Zach payed 2 halves, the better one, and the bad one. Our new payers, and come to think of it, our old payers just got smoked. Worrell and Alcegaire were missing, Gomez got a couple of minutes, but the good news is this is only ONE game.

Well, come this weekend, we'll get o find out if the Falcons are going to be a .500 team or a winner. Geeze, we need a shot blocker and someone who can put the ball in the basket from somewhere. I guess that takes time.

I was at the game and it was poor. Bright spot was about 100 students showed up.

official attendance was 3,411. Rough second half but my expectations are low so I'm not going to worry about it yet. Tough couple nights of BG sports.

Well, it is difficult for those of us not in the greater BG area to make weeknight games. I was just making an observation that with a team the caliber of Cincinnati coming in, I was surprised to see so few people there on TV. Not complaining at all.

University doing just about everything humanly possible to bring fans to the games. For whatever reasons, not an overwhelming amount of interest - yet!

Poor shot selection and missed foul shots. Absolutely no reason we should not have been up at half-time.

As far as Alcegaire - he's a freshman. The good news is next season he'll be a sophomore. You don't run the kid off after the first two games of the season.

The 2nd half was brutal but I find it difficult to draw any conclusions at all about our team based on a game where we were so clearly outclassed athletically and skill wise. When we gave their guards space they would hit 3s, including one or two NBA range ones. When we didn't give them space they'd blow buy us or find somebody else with a good look.

It didn't help matters that we had some of our players in the 25-30 minute range while they were able to roll at least 7-8 guys without seemingly any drop off.

I think that Cincy team is pretty good. They've got a shot at Sweet 16 or better. And I think our team is pretty bad. I've already resigned myself to a 15 win season being a good, if not great, accomplishment for this group. I'd have to set 12 as the realistic goal with 15 being the optimistic goal. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we struggle to get to 10 though.

This team is just a total mishmash right now. We basically went 9 deep last night. 3 of those guys are holdovers from Orr. 1 was a juco transfer Jans brought in because he desperately needed a PG that could play. 1 was a Jans recruit who wasn't good enough to play last year so he redshirted. The other 5 are a mix of true frosh and Juco players that Huger had to get in here to fill out a roster.

I guess my expectations are so low on this season, I see no reason to even worry about this game. I didn't think we had a chance to win it before the game, and I didn't think we had a chance to win it at any time throughout the 1st half when we kept it close. This year is all about building and installing a new system and a new attitude. Hopefully Huger is busting ass on the recruiting trail as well, because we're desperate for some actual talent.

While I agree with most, I think Lillard, Worrell and Wiggins are all plenty talented from the small bits I have seen. Just 14 more wins to 15. I am going to be counting down.

Hate to break it to you but Alcegaire is a JUCO transfer and a Junior.

My bad - but still after only two games with this coach, it's just like being a freshman all over again (I'm trying to dig out of the hole).

When it comes to attendance, while it is certainly huge that we were able to get Cincinnati to come here and would be for any MAC school, I just think UC hasn't regained its prominence as a "name team" to the casual fan that it had when Huggins was the head coach.

As for the game it went about as I expected, we hung in for a half and then they pulled away big in the 2nd half.
