It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Gutsy game by BG coming back in reg., OT and 2nd OT!! Denny was AMAZEBALLS! Seriously, no other way to put it. Great team effort and nice to see the crowd playing a role! BiG win!

Re: Falcons vs Rockets
No words for that game except thank you Denny! I'll never forget that one
Re: Falcons vs Rockets
Over on the Toledo message boards they can't fathom that they lost to BG. I don't have an account so I can't post over there, but BG also swept Ball State. Toledo did not do that
Re: Falcons vs Rockets
We FINALLY beat Toledo in something people care about. Hey football team - now it's your turn! Nice win hoopsters!
GO BG!!!

Exactly. I love ESPN3.
GO BG!!!
Re: Falcons vs Rockets
In both overtimes BG shot 80% from the field. Was 4-4 on 3 point shots and 74% from the foul line. Our bench points which is skewed a little because Denny and Ish used to be starters but nonetheless our bench outscored Toledo 55-5. 50 pt difference in bench points.
Steve Taylor had a great game with 25 pts and 13 boards but he was only 4-11 from the line. That hurt.
Our of 50 total minutes BG led for 2:48. All that matters is when the clock ticks down to zero.

Re: Falcons vs Rockets
Quite simply the most fun and best game I've ever seen at the stroh center. And the crowd was rocking too. For the first time since the place opened we actually put on one helluva show for a big crowd and pulled out the win. Best crowd of the year for sure, and it was that many ut fans really. Any of those casual BG people that came out and are any sort of basketball fan had to leave there wanting to come back. I left telling my wife how much fun that was and how badly I miss the days where games this fun were the norm.
I've been rough on Denny, but dude played his best game this year and probably of his career tonight. Lillard played well also. Wiggins had a huge second half.
Ut's total lack of depth and inability to play defense did them in as the game dragged on, but it took some mighty huge shots to get it to that point.

I decided to take the wife to the ball game for date night. SO GLAD WE WENT! She's a UT grad, I'm a BG grad, and I work at BG. She wore her colors, I wore mine, and we loved every minute of that game. Holy crap, we beat Toledo!!!
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: Falcons vs Rockets
One play I want to point out which now seems huge was the Malik drive to the basket for a layup to end the half at the buzzer!!! Those 2 points were huge.

A picture of that moment is what college athletics are all about. Loved the game, loved the crowd, loved the outcome and LOVED THAT CELEBRATION IN THE ORANGE SEATS - it was too precious to put a camera between my eyes and that scene. For the first time I actually felt the team and the crowd connect in the Stroh. Hope this is just the beginning.Globetrotter wrote:Players in the stands with the student section afterwards celebrating. LOVE IT.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Re: Falcons vs Rockets
Every year, nearly every team has attrition. One of my favorite things about sports is roster building. With that I have discussed possible transfers with the most obvious seeming to be Worrell, Lillard and Malik. Watching them over the past few games and in the crowd at the end it's hard for me to imagine that any of them transfer, and I think we would be better off for it. Worrell could be a solid 4. Lillard has ALL-MAC ability. And Malik is flashing the spark he could bring in his newfound minutes. The block he had and the score at the end of the half were amazing. I would love for Huger's biggest problem to be a deep roster where he struggles to get everyone minutes.
Re: Falcons vs Rockets
That was probably the best individual play by a Falcon this season. The fact that it didn't make the "first half highlights" reel on the board or the "move of the game" is a travesty. The one play I wanted to watch again and again, I didn't get to see a single replay of it.gmartin wrote:One play I want to point out which now seems huge was the Malik drive to the basket for a layup to end the half at the buzzer!!! Dude absolutely undressed the defender and a fantastic finish.

Re: Falcons vs Rockets
I can't say why it didn't make the 'first half highlights' but as someone mentioned earlier, you CAN watch it again and again on ESPN3. Also, I think BCSN tweeted out the video of that play. It's all over the interwebs. I think this website is on the interwebs, too.hammb wrote:That was probably the best individual play by a Falcon this season.
