vs. Oakland (12/7)
Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
3:36 to play in the first half, Oakland leads 34-31. They’ll go to the line for 2 after the media timeout.
Plowden and Chandler Turner (!) each have 10 points for BG.

Replay showed Reece was just walking over to Plowden when their guy started jawing and got his attention. All Reece did was turn towards him and stay there.
Why this was a double tech is beyond me.

They’re the BG announcers. Just working with limited resources. Give our guys a break, man. LolDiemilkweed wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:38 pm These announcers are such homers for Oakland. Plowden runs into their Kane...
No, Kane with the blocking foul.
Ignored the tech on Oakland but announced teh one on Reece and then took like 2 minutes to even realize it was a double tech.

I love Joe Reece. He just got an open shot and hesitated a second before shooting it to give Plowden time to get better rebounding position.

WOW were they giving big time Oakland Homer vibes there when I first got on to the telecast.mbenecke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:41 pmThey’re the BG announcers. Just working with limited resources. Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
In fairness to the announcers I don't think the PA ever announced the tech on Oakland either. In the arena we were trying to figure out why they didn't shoot a technical shot.
Matheny looked hurt before he got hurt...wasn't right. Was really bad when he came back in. Really wonder what's up with Curtis, he was playing so well
Gonna have to roll with Fulcher and Mills for the haul and that's not likely to go well. Elsasser even played the final 3mins of the half. He's so bad, but we're desperate. Need to play more of Turner, he was good.

I love Fulcher, he gets stuff done every time he is on the court. But nobody left can actually run an offense. WE can shoot, we can defend. We are going to need a rain of fast breaks and 3's to pull this out.hammb wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:00 pm In fairness to the announcers I don't think the PA ever announced the tech on Oakland either. Frankly, losing by less than 10 under these circumstances against this team is still a good showing.

And so far, Mills doesn't seem to actually DO anything. Not on offense at least.

I should bad talk our guards more f\often - that was pretty!Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:05 pm And so far, Mills doesn't seem to actually DO anything. Not on offense at least.
Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
That was his 2nd really good drive and finish. But yeah 2 nice plays isn't enough as the primary ball handler for basically the entire game.Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:08 pmI should bad talk our guards more f\often - that was pretty!Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:05 pm And so far, Mills doesn't seem to actually DO anything. And I have nothing against Fulcher (or even mills really). I just don't think it's ideal to play either of them for the kind of mins they'll end up with tonight.
Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
One thing I did want to note. Oakland played a zone a few mins in the first half and we did a really good job moving the ball and beating it. That's unusual for us, but nice to see.
Re: vs. Oakland (12/7)
Mills with a nice little euro step and finish at the rim.
I like guards that can make layups. This pleases me.

Fouls are 7-1 BG so far in the first 7 minutes this half.
We’re going to struggle down the stretch if this continues. Plowden just had to sit with 3 fouls.
