Point Park is in downtown Pittsburgh. I have been there a few times. Carlow is right next to the University of Pittsburgh, who BG should play. I drove past Carlow in the early 2000's when I took my daughter to Pitt.

It would be nice to see higher level teams come in during the pre MAC months of Nov and Dec. It would be disappointing to lose those games by wide margins. So, until we have the ability to compete at that level, why set it up to be embarrassed on our court?
Bill F was seeing BG compete and beat high levels teams in Men's gym / Memorial Hall. I would imagine those teams came here to compete and it wasn't so much about a big pay day. Times have certainly changed over the last 70 years. Money Money Money and Bill F came forth with enough to pop some eyes and put new energy into a new beginning with Stroh... the argument is: We would be able to compete with a full house etc. Now years later it is not happening which indicates it probably never will. Not the way he intended anyway.

What approach has a better chance of success?
1) More uniform combinations, more Nike shoes, more trips to Florida to play garbage teams
2) Use the Frack money to play better competition at home, especially a year removed from no fans.

I’ll agree either doesn’t matter if you give coaches like Huger and Orr extensions for nothing. Since the latest extension. BG picked to win MAC twice, two underachieving seasons, and the schedule just keeps getting softer.

I can see playing a walk over exhibition game. Putting two "WTF are they playing them for" on the schedule is a bad bad bad thing to do. I don't care if the rest of the conference does it...if Akron jumped off a bridge, would Michael Huger do it?

Yeah...he might...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

The modern student-athlete seems to get pretty excited about uniforms and shoes. I imagine trips to Florida also motivate recruits to sign. Might not mean much to you but I imagine the coaching staff having daily interactions with athletes of this age know something about what gets the recruits interested.

Clearly the strategy is working. Bowling Green hasn't seen the NCAA Tournament in nearly 60 years. Let's grab a couple more uniform combos and see if that gets us to the MAC Semifinals this year. You know what else might help in recruiting, playing a decent opponent or 3, in games actually on real television. Kind of like how Bill Frack wanted it to be spent.
