It is truly awful.

On the plus side Hugers asinine coaching brought plowden out pissed off and ready to score this half.

Plowden in 11 minutes in the 2nd half.

2 rebounds.

13 points.

He's a beast.

I have said it before, I have been watching BG ball since 1976 and the only player I have seen make such progress is Antonio Daniels. But AD came in with the ability, but not the confidence. Plowden was a hustle player and nothing else when he came to us. he's turned himself into a better player than I could have ever believed he would (he's also had a spare year to do it, but the fact is he did do it).

And of course, since he is rested and red hot, he is now on the bench.

How has Turner played 13 minutes and not taken a single shot?

Plowden gets the ball

"Better double him"

NIU does.

We swing the ball around to a wide open Diggs who nails the 3.

Is... is this what offense looks like?

That could very well be the single best offensive set I've seen a Huger led team run. It was perfect.

I’ve really liked the passing and overall gameplay of the second half. NIU isn’t a great team but it’s encouraging to see some actual strategy.

Yes.

The first 15:00 of this game were unwatchable.

The second half was damned good offense, led by Plowden, Fulcher and Curtis.

It is grueling to watch this coach and it’s beating a dead horse to point out his deficiencies so I will just say it is nice to see Fulcher contributing. I think Josiah has a high ceiling and a lot of good things happen with him on the floor.

A 92-83 win.

We still can’t play defense, but I’ rather complain about that after a win than a loss.

Quick turnaround for the rescheduled Akron game on Thursday night.

At some point you're going to have to find a way to dig in and get stops, but certainly the defensive issues aren't nearly as glaring when you're actually moving the ball and scoring at a high clip.

Watching the first 10-15 mins of that game nobody would have thought for a second we'd score 90 points. Hell I wasn't sure we'd score 60. We see outbursts like that and it is obvious that we have some offensive talent, we just don't execute or seem to have a plan for way too many long stretches of just about every game. Those are the stretches where a good team would use its defense to stay in it (which we sort of did last night by not letting NIU really score either in those first 10 minutes), but I just don't know that we'll ever have enough defensive ability on the court to do that consistently against good teams.

Still, that was a good win, was nice to see the offense look cohesive and explode. This game was further evidence that I'd much rather see Matiss backing up Reece than O'Neal. Fulcher played well. Gordon played well. Plowden was as good as he's ever been in that 2nd half. Curtis was maybe our best player over the entire game. Hope to see the offense looking that smooth against Akron.

I love Fulcher more with each passing week. He always contributes positively when he is on the court. He rebounds like a big, and that is there even when the shot is not falling and there are turnovers. But this year, the shot is usually falling, and half of what used to be turnovers are now assists.
