I liked the enthusiasm posted earlier in the thread, but people aren't excited because of the inconsistency, just like football. Yeah I'll turn the game on to watch, however if we're playing like crap and down 20 I'm shutting it off. Both football and basketball have a big problem when it comes to playing a certain level from game to game, hopefully we can show up at Savage Hall this weekendmbenecke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 6:14 am @ Toledo

Give me multiple wins in this upcoming stretch and we might have something to get excited about. Until then, I’m guessing we’ll be 1-4 or 0-5 in this stretch and be about 10-15 (4-8 MAC) in mid-February. We’ve seen this story plenty of times before. I need them to prove to me that they are capable of being different.

I was at the WMU game. Huger never reacted to anything. He is NOT animated in any way. And it is in fact a problem. It’s not that he is stoic. It’s that he is DETACHED.Falcon Fryed wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:05 pm EMU - 30 point win. They suck but a good win.
Ohio - 9 point win. F*** Boals, just don't like that guy. Not a good team but well coached.
Akron - 4 point loss. Probably should have won tough game on the whistle.
WMU - 16 point loss. Huge lead can be made fun of but not lost of how they got there.
Buffalo - 30 point loss. Not good but that's always a tough road game. Are they still flying there?
Miami - 10 point win. Should have been 20 points but Miami battle late.
CMU - 22 point win. They are not good but we took advantage and learned from the WMU game.
Why are people not excited about this team?
Huger is calling plays. He has tightened the rotation. He is working the refs and is animated.
Metheny is playing how people always wanted him to. Defense and making shots.
Ayers is a certified bucket.
Mills is making shots.
Turner is back from injury and all over the floor.
Agee is dunking on people and blocking shots.
Elsasser is making shots and not being exposed.
Towns is injured but was easily a starting caliber MAC big with his rebounding, defense and mid range shot making.
Curtis has limited his wild shooting and has been attacking the rim.
O'Neal has been limited to a small role like he should have been to start.
Our best big has been injured and is hopefully coming back soon. The Stroh was well attended against Miami. The crowd has actually been getting loud in the last 4 minutes. The band is back in town. They have noticeably been trying harder on the operations side.
Pre game threads and chat has been limited.
If not already, we are a decent showing against Toledo and a W on dollar night against Ball state from being a top 4 MAC team.

Re: @ CMU
I'm tired. I was often watching after the games on replay. I don't care if we win or lose now so I don't watch. I want the entire thing to burn down so we are forced to replace Huger. Kids are in bed at 9 and I usually gamble on the best 9pm game on espn+.
