Have you seen Marcshall play this year? I haven't been hearing much about him.

I look forward to reports on our signed incomers as noted above.

Holland certainly scores, but needs strength/weight. No matter what his weight is listed at.

Marschall may be closer to helping first of those two - simply my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised to see Holland be a fine player in the MAC.

Sullivan, I'm told, is the most physical of the three and may be able to assist soon. The league he plays in is certainly highly, highly competitive.

New Jersey is too far for me to have an opinion! I look forward to seeing them all in action at BG.

Go Falcons!

Really we don't hear too much about any of the players until the seasons are over or they are here. Great just rhymed with 6'8 so I figured it was a good word to use...I really have no clue! For us though, 6'8 is a good size for a PF but really we will have many options to choose from. Sure we may not have a 'true' PF, but we have people that can play that role.

And Hammb, there is no sucking up! Notice I said Matt could play PF, too. Besides, I haven't talked to her in awhile but I'm sure she still reads the forums and could give us an update...

Just pokin' fun at ya! :)

I talked with her on AIM a few weeks ago, I think it was after the debut of the Anderson Animals she said she was at the game with her brother & father. Haven't heard from her since then though, I'll bet she is still around though.

Nick Wilson -- 13 ppg.
Erick Marschall -- 17 ppg. 11 rpg.
Jeremy Holland -- 17 ppg. 11 rpg.
Lionel Sullivan -- 13 ppg. 7 rpg.

Possibly more importantly than the statistics are the quality programs these kids are coming from. They all play on teams with two or less losses this season and play for high school coaches that know how to win.

Shouldn't the BG News keep us informed on these type of things?
The Sentinel obviously can't, because they have to use up their space on bowling, Ohio State, and the NBA, not to mention a few a bigger headline for "Lance Armstrong to seek seventh Tour win" than anything on tonights game. BGSU hockey got a very nice HEADLINE tonight, and they don't play for two more days, but basically nothing on tonights basketball game, and they are leading the league!!!!!! Shouldn't the hockey article have been in Thursday or Fridays's paper and basketball coverage for tonights game? Ok, nice article on Josh last night, but what about tonight?

How are these teams doing in thetournament. I know Marschall was sent home, but how about the rest?

Holland's still alive in the Regionals (though I think the "regionals" in Indy are two steps away from the state finals rather than one in Ohio). He's still averaging high teens per game it looks like, too.

Lewis and Moss put up comparably modest numbers at Brookhaven, and both of them clearly had very good talent.

The fact that their teams dominate indicates that our recruits are typically getting their p's and r's in the first 2-3 quarters and then resting in the 4th with 20 point leads.

Being leaders on dominant teams means FAR more than raw stats. It means they'll be much more ready to respond to game situations as college freshman.

Jeremy Holland's team won again this morning in the regionals. They might have another game tonight, apparently daylight savings time isn't the ONLY thing f'ed up about Indiana... :?

I think Holland is my favorite of the new group. Probably because I know the most about him...but he just seems like an athletic big man that we can use. Speaking of things we can use. Hey students...look around campus. Any 6-8 250 pound guys walking around looking to expand there extracurricular activity list? Tell them to walk on.

Speaking of 6-8 250 guys. any chance we could get a football player for a year?.....Some names just looking at the roster

Julian Shibley 6-7 260
Kevin Mahoney 6-6 295 lettered in basketball
Jarrett Buckosh 6-7 254 3 letters in basketball-seems like the most likely choice.

A post a few weeks back...."One of our o-line recruits, Jarrett Buckosh, had an outstanding game last night with 22 points and 11 boards in Lorain Clearview's loss to undefeated Rocky River Lutheran West. Buckosh went head-to-head and outplayed LW's 6'10" Richard Semrau. Semrau is one of the top juniors in Ohio and is being actively recruited by North Carolina, Kentucky, Wake, and Louisville"

To me it would make sense if he played basketball in what would likely be a redshirt year of football for him. at 6-7 254 he might be a perfect fit next to Vandermeer. And the basketball team does not have to waste a scholarship. I had heard murmurs on this board about issues between the football and basketball team over Newsome and Magner not playing......But if he was almost assured of playing would there be a problem?

This makes a ton of sense to me. But I dont know the nuances or politics of it.

Holland's team DID have two games today, and they lost the nightcap by 13 or so. No word on personal stats yet.

Jeremy Holland went into yesterday averaging 20.9 ppg with a high of 32 and 9.0 boards with a high of 14. Austin ended up 20-6 losing in the regional. They are a 2A school in Indiana (second smallest) so it is difficult to say how good the competition is.
