Treauhn Williams to Indiana State.
I am beginning to think we might not be able to sign enough guys to fill our roster.

Stop worrying...we won't
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

We offered Holiefild.mbenecke wrote:Saw the Stritch kid play last year. He was the real deal. He's one heck of a scorer, and he's got shooting touch. He's a little undersized, but the kid can flat out play, and play hard.

Re: 2018-2019 Postseason Recruiting
I, for one, am very frustrated by our continually recruiting 6'3 and under combo guards and 6'10 big men.
I'll never say no to truly legit PGs that can distribute before they score, and I'll never say no to a legit post either, but this is still ancient roster construction. I'd much rather see us focus on 6'4-6'7 athletes and shooters. Buffalo dominated the MAC last year with a roster composed almost entirely of that sort of player. Obviously some of them need to be at least capable outside shooters as well, but you don't really need the true big men in this conference. And I"m so sick of having 2 guards on the court who are under 6'3 and just get dominated on pure size.
I like Dylan Frye, but I want to see more Plowdens here than Fryes.

Agreed. I think we are way out of balance. I am ok with unathletic bigs but my count we have 4 right now. 2 will graduate but then what?hammb wrote:I, for one, am very frustrated by our continually recruiting 6'3 and under combo guards and 6'10 big men.

1 Frye-Laster-Fields
2 Turner
3 Lillard
4 Plowden-Kulackovkis-Sierra
5 Wiggins-Gadson-Uju-Mattos
They got burned by having 1 guy over 6-6 that one year and seem to have over compensated.
I think we have around 5 guys in that group you are talking about but I am not sure Plowden can shoot well enough to play the 3 (unless the 4 or 5 can) , and I don't think Kulack or Sierra are athletic enough for the wing.

Re: 2018-2019 Postseason Recruiting
New offer is for 6'5" JUCO SG Durey Caldwell. 3 years of eligibility left. Played HS in Houston and attends Daytona State College in Florida. Other offer is Buffalo which ain't all bad as they seem to do well in ferreting out prospects.
Re: 2018-2019 Postseason Recruiting
THAT is exactly the type of player we should be recruiting
Re: 2018-2019 Postseason Recruiting
I agree. Long, switchy, athletic guys who can shoot and defend.

Can't really find much on him or about the offer. I assume it's for 2019-20? Is it weird to offer a JUCO guy before he has played any games at his school?fredthefalcon wrote:New offer is for 6'5" JUCO SG Durey Caldwell. 3 years of eligibility left. If they qualify it's fine. And really good for us if we get him.drumstix2388 wrote:Can't really find much on him or about the offer. I assume it's for 2019-20? Re: 2018-2019 Postseason Recruiting
Agreed that it would be a good get based on his size and the highlight videos I found, was just questioning if it was a common time to offer a JUCO freshman.Globetrotter wrote:If they qualify it's fine. Can you share videos? I meant that it depends on when they qualify I think.

Here is a twitter link that says he is a qualifier. Probably have to look down the tweets to find.Globetrotter wrote:Can you share videos? I meant that it depends on when they qualify I think.
