BG doesn't have the talent to match up. It's that simple. Part of that problem could be the coaching staff not helping the player develop. Part of it could be the player, not dedicating himself at getting better. Part of it could be the loss of multiple transfers.
It's a pretty easy solution for me. The players don't like the system Dakich runs. I didn't happen to view most of the games, but if you look at the score, it seems that the team quit on the coach. There's really no reason to lose by the amount they lost to both Ohio and Toledo.
How do you expect the players to come ready to play next season when they know that they will have to go through another tough season (Ws and Ls) and also go through even tougher practices?
There needs to be new energy to the team and fans, positive energy. I just don't see any other way to fix it, other than hiring a new coach and more player friendly system.
Whats the reason why BG doesnt have the talent? Because the "good" players do not want to come here and play in a highschool gym. Players nowadays dont give as much about the buildings history anymore than they do the appearance of it. Yes, AA has history, but none of you can tell me that it looks appealing to a potential recruit. Facilities have a much bigger impact on players coming to a school or not, than most of you think...Yes, I agree with everyone, a new coach should be #1 on our wish list, but we could very well use a new basketball arena...
