Reasons to still love Dan Dakich as our head coach...
Lucky to have Dakich
Those of you that think BG can even attract a better Coach than DD are out of your mind. Remember, one of the reasons he came to BG was because his Dad played here. Otherwise, he probably doesn't know where BG is on the map. 10th in the MAC in All-TIme winning percentage and 2nd on the all-time BG win list. The players play hard, they graduate and they become contributors to society. I was at the Kent game Saturday and Dakich outcoached Christian, the kids played as well and as hard as I've ever seen. 8 of the top 10 guys in the rotation were sophomores or freshman, so the program is distancing itself from the "West Virginia" incident. Wake Up Falcon fans! This is Bowling Green in the MAC and we're lucky to have this guy!

I don't think it' s fair to say "10 year's of mediocrity". There have been a couple of good years that would have landed us an NCAA bid if the world was a fair place ruled by men and women of reason, high moral fiber and excellent personal grooming. There have also been a couple of mediocre years and a couple of pretty bad years.
What has hurt Dan here is that since the grand return from West Virginia he's had mediocre and bad teams. There have been far too many transfers out of the program and we've been a dull team to watch with limited athleticism. Dan lost the team when he left and may just now be getting it back...it may be too late though.
That trip to West Virginia was probably the costliest trip to that state that in history that didn't include a stay at the Greenbrier
