Sorry, but I am not exactly content to sit back and "enjoy" another .500 season...or so. I am happy we have put a few victories together but when are we going to put "a season" together? When are we going to win the MAC? When are we going to make it to the NCAA Tournament?FalconTurf wrote:My gosh, Crawford is not NBA material but causes difficulty one-on-one vs. a point, quick hands helping on defense and handles the ball fairly well when nobody is open often due to a lack of movement by others on the team. I'll admit he forces things - passes and penetration to the basket. And yes he dribbles a lot - as would be expected by a guard that runs a lot of pick-and-roll on offense.
As always we have a team of players that don't have complete games - some less than others. Accept these guys for what they are and you may just enjoy their competitive nature and the fact they are currently on a fairly decent roll in the West swing.
Really enjoyed seeing Thomas up front in the 3/4-court press. His anticipation of passes is great despite not having the best lateral quickness in the conference. Calhoun was a beast posting up despite a travel or two. And Oglesby's presence around the basket was awesome despite his touch at the line. Despite the flaws I really enjoy this team. Wish there were 4,800 people that enjoyed them every home Saturday like me because a full Stroh is wonderful.
The blame has to stop at the coaches office. We have a few nice players but we are about a couple guards away from being a legitament threat to someone. Why can't BG recruit a 2-guard that can shoot the ball? Why can't we recruit a point guard that we can give the ball to and feel good about it?
I've been following the Falcons since the early 1970's and I am frustrated. I was in Anderson in 1982 when all we had to do was beat OU and we were going dancing...only to go back to my dorm room devistated after a 72-71 loss.
I am tired of simply being competitive!
