Surely you jest. The 2008 Buffalo football game was 10x worse than the game last night. Blowing a 14-point lead with under 4 minutes left and losing, dissing the band by leaving before the alma mater was played, dissing the fans for not showing up to the game (which started at 6pm on a Friday, smooth move there GC!), amid the news of scholarship reductions because of bad APR scores and players stealing credit cards and engaging in home invasions. Yep, I think that covers it all.

Other than that, completely the same.

Here's another thing that gets under my skin. When asked in the postgame, Orr went on again about our defense not being good enough and how he's a defensive-kind-of-guy, etc. But here's the thing - WE ONLY ALLOWED 54 POINTS!!! That's nearly 10 ppg fewer than we averaged allowed per game for the season! When in the world is he going to acknowledge and focus that you also need to be able to score to be successful as well? And that is something we have consistently struggled to do during his tenure. I understand defense is important - without a doubt - but so is being able to score and having guys able to do so. If I didn't know the outcome of the game but someone told me CMU finished with 54 points in the Stroh Center, I 100% would have bet the house that BG won. Our defense isn't why we lost last night, it was our offense - or lack thereof! That is why we lost.
GO BG!!!

The postgame press conference was like every Louis Orr press conference......he said nothing. Unfortunately, the 3 media people sitting in the room didn't care enough (or don't have the balls) to ask any tough questions. He talked about how you have to "grind" out wins in this league. Well, teams that win championships blow Central Michigan off the court. My first 3 questions in order....

1) Why did you call your last timeout when you did?

2) Why did you not ask the officials to look to see if more time should be put on the clock?

3) Do you think your team played with its' maximum effort tonight? If not, why?

Oh and my bonus question....... Why did you recruit James Erger?

10x worse? Why not shoot the boot and go for a kajillion? :). At least Buffalo had some talent. Outside of Ziegler...CMU has nothing. That game should have been an easy win. Fire coach Orr so he can move onto his real calling...sports correspondent for the 700 Club.

The defense WAS bad. We only allowed 54 points because we held the ball for 34 1/2 seconds every damn possession. Take out Ziegler's 1-12 and we let the rest of that bad team shoot 19-33 (about 57%). That and McBroom got literally whatever he wanted in the 2nd half.

The offense was bad because they used 3 guys to guard just Calhoun and Thomas, didn't guard Dee Brown at all, and he was incapable of carrying the offense despite literally NOT BEING GUARDED. Coach Orr won't call out a senior in his last game, as he shouldn't, so he had every right to call out the defense.
LONG LIVE THE MONGOOSE!!
