Erger got a block....frozen hell.
Re: Gameday Robert Morris
Well this team is shaping up to be every bit as bad as I expected...perhaps worse.
How in god's glory can Orr justify playing his son and Luke freaking Kraus this many minutes? Last night they combined for 46 minutes and put in 0 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists (to 2 turnovers)!
Neither of them deserve Division 1 scholarships and they sure as hell shouldn't be starting and playing major minutes on a Division 1 team. Of course the way Orr has built this program calling it a Division 1 team may be a bit of a stretch.
I have no idea if Clarke, Sealey, and Henderson playing more minutes would make us a better team or not, but I'd sure as hell like to find out by actually having them on the court. All 3 are infinitely better athletes than Orr/Kraus/Erger, and while we have no idea if they can play or not I think we can safely say at this point we KNOW those scrubs can NOT play at this level.
On the season:
Orr: 29.3 mpg, .286 FG%, 5 ppg, 4 rpg
Kraus: 28.5 mpg, .217 FG%, 4.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg
Erger: 10 mpg, .429 FG%, 2 ppg, .3 rpg
Meanwhile Clarke & Sealey combined average just as many minutes as Kraus is getting. Now don't get me wrong, they haven't been especially productive in their time either, which is probably just a further indictment on what Orr has done to this program. There's probably no right answer for actually making us a decent team, but I know that when I get to watch this team play the last thing I want to see is Kraus & Orr on the court.

Re: Gameday Robert Morris
Player Orr is fine. I have no argument for the other 2. They should be on the end of the bench. Clarke has however seemingly been a turnover machine.
Re: Gameday Robert Morris
You keep saying Orr is fine, but how is he fine? He's been awful since he put on a Falcons uniform. He doesn't do anything well. He played 5 mpg last year, couldn't shoot, and really didn't do anything. Now he's getting 29 minutes per game and continuing to not produce!?Globetrotter wrote:Player Orr is fine. If you want to make a case that he deserves minutes because there are no better options on this roster, I'll listen. But if you're trying to say that he's a fine player that could start on a good MAC team I think you couldn't be more wrong. Everytime I saw him on the court last year all I could think was that his father is the only reason he has a scholarship anywhere.
Hell, I think Louis could give us more on the court than his son.
Re: Gameday Robert Morris
Chauncey does nothing well. When not turning the ball over is your best attribute you are limited. Kraus is scrappy=limited. Erger knows what to do when you put him in = he stinks. It's become all coach speak for players who shouldn't be playing. Orr should have been fired last year, giving a new coach Calhoun and Crawford to keep it from falling apart, while having 8 scholarships to get his players in. Instead, we are "directionally" swirling the toilet, and the final flush happens this season. Directionally, Greg Christopher set the program back 3 years by not seeing that after last year, this wasn't going to work.

Orr and Crawford are fine but Matt Schilz is an awful QB. Just having a bit of fun there GT...;0)
The box score says it all and hammb is dead on. We have guys getting huge minutes and doing nothing. Others are getting smaller minutes and at least doing something. IF this team wins 8 games this year, I'll be surprised. I wanna be excited for the season but I haven't seen anything that tells me it's going to be good....or even average. I'm afraid we are heading for big time trouble...

How bad does Louis Orr have to screw this thing up before he's gone? When we fail to break double digits in wins this year, will that do it?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Gameday Robert Morris
Flipper, that is the ultimate question. The problem is the bottom of the MAC is so bad, the wins each year become inflated. He will have 6 straight years of losing records in non-conference, and I would argue that our non-conference schedule has gotten easier the past few seasons. You have to be a horrible basketball team to not get to Cleveland.

Re: Gameday Robert Morris
God I would hope so. Last year was set up to be his best shot. He had some new guys that looked promising and all of his early recruits were upperclassmen. If he was ever going to compete for a MAC title that was his shot.Flipper wrote:How bad does Louis Orr have to screw this thing up before he's gone? And they were a mediocre team that didn't even make it to Cleveland.
That says it all right there and he should have been fired on the spot. But instead they brought him back because they liked the "direction" of the program!? Well shocker of all shocks he's going to have a terrible year this year, which isn't surprising since he lost some top talent and none of the new guys can play.
I shudder to think just how terrible we'll be NEXT year when Crawford & Calhoun are gone and there isn't a single player on the team that can put the ball in the basket. This guy needs to be gone ASAP. At least Brandon & Dakich tasted some early success before wearing out their welcome....Orr's been a total bust from the get go. One regular season title with Nate Miller taking over everything in a horrid MAC year is the "highlight" of his tenure here...*VOMIT*

Re: Gameday Robert Morris
First, I would not assume that Huntsville is a win. That's the #3 ranked DII team in the country and they were 29-4 last year.
Second, I don't see BG getting double digit wins. After Huntsville, we have Detroit and Youngstown State, who won at Georgia.
Finally, I agree with Hammb. I'd like to see what Clarke and Sealey would do with more time, but they have not been great when they have had chances to play. However, if we're going to lose, I just think we'd rather lose that way than Orr and Kraus.

BACK AWAY FROM THE LEDGE!
Dude, seriously........slowly back away from the edge.CrazyFan wrote:Hahahahahahahahaha!!! This team is a joke. This coach is an absolute joke. Again, fire his a** tomorrow. But again, when your athletic department is ran by a fundraising clown and a bunch of his clones they'll just let the problem "fix itself", and let his contact run out. BG Basketball is now officially in the Shitter. Thank you Louis Orr for totally ruining this program. At least Seton Hall had the resources to recover quickly enough to save their program. We don't. We should all start referring to Louis Orr as the "program killer".
Maybe you noticed, the sun did come up this morning. And guess what, the sun will come out tomorrow too regardless of how the team performs tonight. Yes, it really will.

Orr is a capable 5th starter. He deserves a scholarship. He does everything ok and nothing bad. I guess when I say he is fine I may be comparing him to Erger, who is bad. Orr is just fine. Nothing horribly bad, nothing horribly good.Falconfreak90 wrote:Orr and Crawford are fine but Matt Schilz is an awful QB. Just having a bit of fun there GT...;0)
