hammb wrote:Great finish. 3 huge Worrell dunks, the third gave us our first lead. That really got the team energized. Parker was unreal in the second half. Lillard played a real good game, alcegaire hit some big shots and really kept us in it in the first half.

Big difference down the stretch is that we finally hit our free throws. If not for some great shooting by Parker, alcegaire, and I think Lillard down the stretch we would have lost the lead.
Parker 20 second half point!

Gomez didn't go to Buffalo and was removed from the score card tonight. Now we don't have to bother with him senior night.

Huger didn't elaborate much in post game. Wagner tweeted that the lineup change were due to academics.

Cannot imagine it is anything too alarming if they only sat the first couple minutes... Not much of a punishment if there are real issues...

They sat for two minutes...they probably used "your" instead of "you're" or used the phrase "for all intensive purposes" on a Lit paper.

As someone pointed out on the OU board, and as I have mentioned numerous times, BG has had Ohio's number both in football and basketball for the past 5 years. Ironically the last time BG went to the NCAA tournament as well all are aware is 1968. Which is also the last time Ohio were MAC Champs in football. A very weird coincidence. Maybe Ohio could be MAC Champs in football and we could finally go dancing.

OR used 'literally' incorrect. Literally I hate how people use the word literally.

If tournament would start today BG would be 11 seed playing at Toledo. The winner would then play Ohio. Lots of shuffling over the next 3 games.

They had several fans standing there in the SE corner of the Doyt as the clock ran down in November of 1968. They had beaten us in a close one and then showered the field with tangerines (Tangerine Bowl)

It stated in The Blade that the academic issues were not necessarily grades but 4 players failed to go to classes and study sessions. Not sure about Gomez, he had academic issues but his may be grades related. It appears Parker and Denny may been lazy and felt they did need to attend classes or study groups. Ben Simmons did the same last week and was suspended one game.

Yeah but Ben Simmons is about to be the #1 pick in the NBA draft and is only in school because they wouldn't let him enter the draft last year. I get your point though.

Huger did say something in the postgame about a Parker hip injury, and also said he was glad to see how some of the bench starters responded....said "often times they have just started pouting."

Like I told my wife I think it was to try and light a fire as much as anything. It worked out OK, but spotting them 9 points with a couple of walk-ons starting isn't a real great strategy going forward.

It's a team sport and those benched let their teammates down. Step 1 was keeping them from starting. Step 2 is to make them run 9 suicides for the 9 points OU scored while they were benched.

No problems with that for me. Or how he handled it last night.
