Wiggins is so frustrating because he could be so much better if he toughened up and got a mean streak to him. He just comes across as very soft. When you push him, he doesn't push back.
If he developed a toughness to him, he would be so much better than he is. The potential is so clearly there, and it's frustrating to not see him reach it.

Wiggins also scores most of his points when the game is out of reach. 5 of the 12 games this year he failed to take more than 2 shots in the 1st half. Several games he has gone an entire half without scoring. He is too weak. Yes he has been getting rebounds but he surely isn't hustling to get them. He takes plays off. Plays poor defense. He will get dominated come MAC play if he doesn't toughen up.

I get your response and it makes total sense. Watch him play and I guarantee you, that you will agree. He is as frustrating of a player as I can ever remember. Fills up the stat sheet but anytime anything is hard its just a turnover or a sloppy mess. He went 13-16. If he was more aggressive it would have been 20-20. He had 2 inches on the entire Green Bay roster but any time they were aggressive on him the ball went flying. Hes rebounding but he isn't winning rebounding battles. He doesn't get blocks. Its like he is right on the verge but isn't taking the final step.Class of 61 wrote:Globetrotter wrote:Some more notes.
It's likely that if the roster stays the same 4 players will reach 1000 points next year and that doesn't include our best player who could hit it.
Wiggins 620
Lillard 546
Frye 466
Caldwell 367
Turner 206
Wiggins should get into the top 10 all time in rebounding this year

Don't understand you at times. Bad mouthing Wiggins as too weak, lack of hustle etc., then you list these numbers. Had 16 pts-13 boards , has improved his FT shooting RADICALLY over past 2 yrs.
I admit I haven't seen this team live yet, have seen a little on my I pad. Seems like coach has got them headed in right direction, including Wiggins.
I wish they would play Gadsen more. He won't learn without playing.
